Happy to say yesterday the sale of my husbands CPA practice was completed, our house is going up for sale today, I resigned from my Executive Director position last night, effective end of October, and we will be on our way driving across country with the two dogs in early November. Finally, exactly one year later from putting the deposit on our new place, we will be there permanantly. Three months does not seem THAT long! We are thrilled. :MOJE_whot:

Congratulations on your plans, it's finally happening for you. You must be so excited. We'll be returning to TV ourselves in November. We go to Doggie Doo Run Run (private dog park) daily when we're in The Bubble. Hope to see you there!

Thank you all for your sweet wishes. Our dogs will be at Doggie Doo every day, my husband walks them faithfully every day at the off leash park. Then the dogs come home and sleep on the bed or couch for the rest of the day. They are wondering what more they need out of retirement, life is good for them now!!! Look forward to seeing you at the park, it will not be hard to miss the Irish and English Setters. Fun!

I appreciate the welcome and look forward to meeting you too. I see a Washington or Pacific Northwest Club in our future, with Washington State wines which are becoming the best!!! Please keep sending the emails and I love the correspondence. We are looking forward to our week at the end of August and our life in November!
By the way, it hit 90 in Seattle yesterday. It hardly has it 72 all summer!!!
Jane, So happy that all is working out as planned for you. Sorry I am going to miss you when I'm in Seattle on business this month. For sure, will connect when you get moved in.
So happy for you. We too sold our business (in 2007) and have been in the Villages for almost 3 years now. Here for life, and in case you haven't heard this common Villages phrase, "We are frogs, we aren't leaving here till we croak"!! Good luck on your move and congrats!!!

Thank you! Moving my mom into Sumter Place Assisted Living August 29 and my husband and I are looking forward to a week in The Villages then before we return back to Seattle to wrap up work, pack the house and hit the road. We have been to TV twice in November, paradise. My mom is doing amazingly well, we have her big 90th birthday bash before we move her down at the end of the month.
I am appreciative of everyone's warm welcome, we are so happy to be getting on our way!

Good luck. We drove down from Tacoma, Wa in July. It was a long drive. It took us 8 days to drive, but we took our time and enjoyed the trip. We had no problems along the way and I thank God for that. Have a safe trip.

Congrats. You picked the perfect time to move here permanently -- not too hot to unpack and get settled; time enough to get used to Florida "winters" (it really can get cold here but it's a different cold from the West Coast); lots of fun activities for the holidays. Enjoy your drive cross-country and hope to see you around.

Biggest change will be (1) lack of hills and mountains, (2) rain comes in buckets, not a steady mist, and (3) no I-5 traffic jams. Oh yeah, no snow.
Welcome. You'll love it. Trade in flannel shirts for t-shirts. You won't have to wear wool socks with your Birkenstock sandals.

If I'm not mistaken........I believe she moved here one year ago. Not this season.
I'm pretty sure this is a very old thread......
