Tell us: Any problem with USA Basketball score vs. Nigeria? (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2012/08/mike-krzyzewski-carmelo-anthony-lebron-james-kobe-bryant/1)
Wonder if that thought Nigeria could catch up at the 125 points??

Sounds like the Olympic Basketball competition should invoke a "Mercy Rule" like Little League Baseball has.

According to what I read, Coach K benched all of the players he could.
What was left to do? Get DQed for dumping the game like the badminton players did??
Actually I gave up in the first half when they kept showing the laughing and smirking USA players.

I didn't watch it. I suppose Coach K didn't have to wiggle his rabbit nose much with such a blowout. Can't get excited about this Dream Team.

The score was indicative of how superior our pro's are against the world's lesser team players.
IMHO - I would be surprised if they didn't come home with the gold medal.

Truth is I liked the Olympics much better when all the athletics were amateurs. I know some countries cheated on that but........ so what?

I agree. They ruined the Olympics when they allowed professionals. Because some countries cheated was not a good reason to do this. That's like saying that stealing is against the law and some people steal so let's eliminate the law.
The Olympics was exciting pure amateur athletes who were mostly kids worked so hard to win for the love of their sport and the love of their country.

WAY off topic here, but I saw Wilt Chamberlain play with the Globetrotters in my high school gym around 1960 or '61.
It's too bad the U.S. couldn't have kept the score down a bit, but with all the starters out of the game and the shot clock, not much can be done about it.
