Just learned this yesterday. I have a Blue Rhino propane tank for my grill. Atlas won't haul it to The Villages. Lowe's won't give me a credit to return it. Finally I called the Blue Rhino company. Spoke to a very nice rep. Here's what you do.

Drop the tank off at Walmart or Lowe's or other large store.

Buy a new tank when you get to your new home.

Make copies to keep and send originals of:
Receipt for purchase
Proof of Purchase portion of paper band on tank.

To:
Blue Rhino Moving Program
470 West Hanes Mill Road
Suite 200
Winston Salem, NC 27105

They will send you a $20.00 rebate check

I asked why you did not need a drop-off receipt and she said you can get only one of these per year.

Personally, I'm giving the remaining propane to my neighbor to use up and he'll drop off the tank when it's gone.

I think that's a nice gesture from the Blue Rhino people.
