Anyone have any suggestions on where I can buy and have installed 2 garage door openers. I will be coming down soon and want to have openers installed. I will only have a week so I think it would be better to buy down in Florida.

No they were an extra cost and I elected to install them at a later date to save on the initial cost of the house.

You could probably arrange something with the company TV's uses, here's a link: Ro-Mac Lumber & Supply - Home Improvement, Doors, Windows, Tools, Gargage Doors (http://www.romaclumber.com/)

we used ro-mac to install an opener and key pad, while we were in ohio. they did a great job and billed me, these local companies are professionals and are familar with long distance homeowners. trust the local businesses.

I also agree with Ro-Mac. In fact, they probably installed the garage doors!!

Our experience with Ro-Mac garage door openers has been less than ideal. Between us and the neighbors, the Ro-Mac folks have been in our newish neighborhood many times for faulty "clickers", lost codes, new circuit boards, etc. My husband can't wait until the openers fail completely so he can go to Home Depot and buy some Chamberlain openers-then we'll get a touch pad for outside. We don't want to get a Ro-Mac specific one. Contact Home Depot and see what they'll do for you.

Call Ryan O'Cull - (352) 351-1752 - We had no openers (we bought a model). He installed two openers for one-half of the cost quoted by the outfit that the Villages uses. And he was immediately available when we had a subsequent problem (that I caused, not his installation).

there has been many situations where ro-mac has installed the same contractors grade opener in several homes in the villages, thus being said one home owner will open his/her garage and that code from there remote will also open the neighbors door. make sure your installer puts in an opener that utilizes rolling code technology, so there will never be the same code used twice. Liftmaster is the #1 selling opener and with proper installation can last a very long time, and cost around the same as one of the contractors grade openers*** more for your money+ less headache = happy home owner****

Can your company help me with having my door openers installed?

We moved into a new home July 2011 and about 3 months later we had Ro-Mac make a service call. So did everybody on our block within a month or so. They had put bad batteries in all the remotes and they all died about the same time. Once they knew the problem, it became an easy fix and we've not had anymore trouble since.

I would stay away from Sears. My experience was that they have a plastic gear that wears out in a year or 2. I had a service call once and the tech. told me he had a bunch of them in his truck as it is very common for them to strip out. Right now I have what the builder installed, Ro Max and no problems after 2 years.

Thanks John, I made a call to them today and the guy I talked to was going to work me up an estimate. They use Liftmaster units which he said is a better grade of Chamberlain. I have a Chamberlain now and have had no problems. I'll let everyone know how it turns out as soon as he gets back with me.

Don't forget to get the key pad on the outside of the garage. Very handy to have.

I am really surprised that your home did not come with garage door openers as well as the outside key pad. I guess everything is an extra with a new house. Just another reason for buying a re-sale. Everything is already there.

Just an update, I called Ro-Mac and spoke with a guy who said he would call me with an estimate. That was 10 days ago. I guess they dont need my business. I find it amazing that in this day and age with people and businesses struggling, a company can be that ignorant to growing their business.
Anyway, I contacted Garage Doctor of Orlando and Jereme was on the ball, gave me a quote and set up an installation time. Thats how it should work.
Thanks everyone for your help in this matter.

if you have any questions on any of these LIFTMASTER openers please let us at Garage Doctor of Orlando know 407-796-2FIX (2349) thank you- Jereme
p.s. if any one would like a brochure on these openers email me your address on here and I will be able to mail them to you. Also, I read a thread about chamberlain/liftmaster openers, They are the same company so don't let some installer up sale you on it. They are one company.

what brand of garage door opener is this quote for? and what about a keypad on the outside? Thanks

I programmed it into my car. If your car has that capability, you can follow the directions in the manual. You will still need one for your golf cart though.

Jereme from Garage Doctor just left my house having installed 2 garage door openers and I could not be happier. I set everything up with him from 1000 miles away and he kept me up to date on everything from installation time to product operation. His installation was neat and thourough, a real pro. If your garage door needs servicing give The Garage Doctor of Orlando a call and ask for Jereme.
