Have any of you had Troy Rosenberger install crown molding in your homes? I hear his work is exceptional but expensive. He planes the molding where it might not meet flush with the wall where other installers just use caulking. We are not experts on this sort of thing, for sure. Any advise would be helpfull.

Does he use wood or mdf molding? I've heard Ruth Dyer recommend him.

We used Troy, and his painters. He did an AWESOME job, and the paint job was perfect. Installed the first day, painted the second day. I would highly recommend him. BTW - he used MDF

I believe he uses MDF. 7 inch crown molding. Everything customized to your house. Archways etc. You are right. He was recommended by the designer Ruth Dyer. Just wish there were more TOTV people that could recommend him.

We had Troy install crown molding in our Bridgeport in Charlotte. Have not actually seen the results as we have not yet moved down from Michigan. He did, however, send us photos that look gorgeous! He may be more expensive but the 7" moldings are really nice and he is very easy to work with. Did see a house in Tall Trees that he did that convinced us to use him.

I'm sure he'll do a great job. There've been lots of photos published of his work in Ruth Dyer's column. Before moving in we had 5-1/2" wood molding installed. Later we hired Ruth to critique and make suggestions. She said that 7" molding would have looked better. Also, our first winters here were cold and the dry air from the heating unit caused some separation between the molding and the sheetrock. That didn't happen this year since the heat was rarely turned on. Maybe it wouldn't happen at all with MDF.

Troy did a beautiful job of installing 7" crown in our Gardenia. After the fact, one realizes all the oddball angles that converge where walls and ceiling meet. We're very pleased with the result and are glad to recommend him.
