The meat market on 301 is a very budget-minded place. Fresh Market has a good butcher, and they do a good job with what they offer. I agree, though, that a full service butcher would be a real "plus" in TV...but don't know if one would be able to survive economically.

I do not consider the one on 301 a good butcher store...uh uh, no way. There is none close by and we've looked high and low to find one. Sad, but true.

Some of our neighbors have had good luck up at the Bellview Meat Market on the west side of 301 soon after it meets 441

I had heard that there is some kind of color coded t-shirt thing going on at Katie Belles having something to do with how much money the available men have. Or, maybe, this refers to something else?
Friend was joking that maybe he should get a sponsor while attending Katie Belle's. The same kind of sponsor you see on television when the woman and man are smirking at one another quite a lot.
On the OP's question--
If you want to drive quite a ways-- Harr's Surf & Turf in Palm Harbor, FL has wonderful meat products. http://surfandturfmarket.com/

Actually, I've found that the meat cutters at Winn Dixie will cut whatever you want how you want it. All you have to do is ask. They are quite accommodating. Not a butcher, but close.

You can probably ask Publix to custom cut and/or order the premium meats they have or can get. An executive of a huge meat supplier in Chicago told me that butchers, supermarkets, restaurants can all buy the same stuff from them. He told me which supermarkets in our area had the premium meats, and he was right.....the best we ever had.

If a market opened up in the area, how likely would you be to shop there. Also what would you like to see them carry ?

To survive here a meat market would have to be both (1) Cheap and (2) offer a full range of luxury meats such as veal and lamb and aged prime steak, all fresh, not frozen, and all cut or ground to order. The two things are not compatible. Fresh Market has (2) but not (1) Publix and Winn Dixie have (1) but not (2).

WE own our own business. There is no way one can have cheap and luxury at the same time.

we buy a hind quarter from a local who raises the cows....in TV i hate to think the only meat we will get is from a supermarket...since we only each eat 3 to 4oz of meat at a time and beef 1 to 2 times a week i am willing to pay for quality not quanity

OK a hind quarter of beef is approx 150 lbs of "Hanging" meat and when butchered it is cut to approx 95 Pounds of edible beef, If a 2 person family eats 4 oz a day or 1/2 pound that 1/4 of beef should last you approx 190 days or 1/2 year....and that is assuming you eat home very day .Your "hanging" cost may be reasonable but your useable cost is most likely $5-6 per pound for all type of cuts including some steaks but also cheaper cuts such as ground beef, cube steak, shank bones, rump roasts etc
I find it hard to justify buying a 1/4 hind of beef not only on cost but having to store it someplace here in FLorida. Then you talk about quality...how does beef frozen 3-6 months compare with something freshly cut...even if it is from a butcher or meat market you would not consider top quality????
One power outage would wipe out any savings

From Colony Shopping center Go Hwy 466a towards Fruitland, just before the elementary school turn right at the BLINKING caution light which is CR468. Follow it for 3-4 miles and you will see the Leesburg Meat Market on the left about a mile before you get to the HWY 44 intersection. You will pass Hwy 44C intersection a little before you get to the meat market. Never used them but always have a lot of cars there.
I pass this one all the time and have wondered how good it is. If anyone tries them, please post it on here so we can know first hand.

Went there for a look see. Wouldn't buy and wouldn't go back
