We had dinner outside at RJ Gators the other night. Some of the flies may have taken a vacation from Bonifay to visit Lake Sumter.
There is no pee in Lake Sumter, but there were flies at RJ Gators.
And frogs pooping on my porch.
Can someone write the lyrics and music to this? It sounds like a Villages song.
The chorus could be...
OH Savannah, don't you cry for me.
I come from Fernandina with my swatter on my knee.

Was at Bonifay on Sat. for Tea Day there weren't to many but then it was a windy day. I know they've been spraying every night at clean up plus they've had a professional outfit in to spray also. I'll bet they're gone just in time for the love bugs to come back.

We ate at Bonifay 3 days ago and the flies were terrible. We noticed that the ceiling fans are mounted tight to the ceiling, and not hanging down on extending poles. We discovered from our home up north, if our outdoor paddle fans were lowered, flies could not settle amid the "wind" created by the turning blades. Just thinking.............

As I mentioned before, if you ever went on a picnic you had to see the flies. You are outside and its summer time---Flies Flies. Get over it----they don't eat much!
Seriously, every time I see or hear about flies, I think of my mother-in-law. She could catch a fly in her hand. Darnest thing I ever saw. What a sweet lady she was---about so tall and about....... and wow how she could catch a fly. What a cook too! Six kids and living on a farm I wonder how she found time to learn that trick? By the way, you ain't seen flies until you lived on a farm. Lots of them devils!
Have you ever tried catching a fly in your hand. A real art ,not for everybody, because few can do it! Maybe a new club "Fly Busters." Could we train enough Villagers to rid Bonifay and all other Village places of these flying devils?? Nah, not a chance, TV is too sophisticated for this. Forget it and lets just leave the "fly busting" to the professional exterminators.

O I came from Fernandina
With my swatter on my knee
Attacked by flies in Bonifay,
I fled to Lake Sumter-ee
No pee in Lake Sumter,
No gators could I see;
But flies at RJ Gators
Seemed to have it in for me.
Saddened and discouraged
I returned to Fernadee
Where frogs had emerged
With their gay concertinas
To poop upon my wall.
Chorus: I came from Fernandina
With my swatter on my knee.
There are flies in the squares,
In the clubs, everywhere,
And frog poop bedevils me.

I went to Bonifay CC yesterday (Wednesday, Aug 8) in mid-afternoon for Happy Hour.
The fly problem was just as bad as ever - countless flies - at the outdoor bar and tables surrounding the bar area. The few people at the outdoor bar kept coasters over their drink glasses in between sips in order to keep the flies off the rims of the glasses.
I sat indoors at the bar and had a very enjoyable time.
As for the poster who says flies are no problem and to get over it as well as his mother catching flies in her hand - no thanks to all of those ideas! Eww.

Buggyone: You got the right idea----just sit inside if you can't handle the flies. Although, I did enjoy Bonifay Patio Bar this winter----nice atmosphere and I don't remember seeing any flies. The weather must have something to do with the fly population. Like I said----don't think TV is ready for a "fly busting" club.
