new lows.

We have heard that Romney hates women, hates illegals, hates poor people and now we hear that he allowed a woman to die of cancer, and this morning we hear that he began Bain with money from Central American Death squads.

I will list links about each validating the use of insinuation and lack of anything that would allow a human being to make such claims. This on top of the head of the senate, ON THE SENATE floor accusing Romney of not paying taxes, etc. How does one human being make charges against another that are so severe but so severly distorted ....how do you, even in a political campaign say such things about another person that even in your wildest imagination you know are not untrue.

It is either time to take a breath....as Romney himself suggested an agreement to talk about and make only ads that are about the issues.

We have on this forum in The Villages, validating such attacks, defending racial ads, having threads using the same insinuation theory of Obama, discussing right wing extremists and of course Nazi's.

There is surely something wrong, and if this post seems bias, I am afraid that it is....Romney campiagn wrong to say Obama attacked religion but that ad does not hold a candle to the personal and mean ads being run by the left.

"How – after you stand cynically silent while your super PAC mongrels accused Romney of throwing the Soptic family out on the street, stripping them of health care and then letting the wife die of cancer – do you then reach out to your defeated rival?

The presidency is uniquely a place of moral leadership, said Harry Truman, a “bully pulpit,” said Theodore Roosevelt.

How, after the long, low and miserable campaign he and his crowd have conducted, does Obama ascend that pulpit again without being laughed at and hooted at until he stands down?

How does he resolve the fiscal crisis looming at year’s end?

Obama says he rather would not extend any of the Bush tax cuts than extend all of them. The Republican House will give him all or nothing. Yet if Obama wins and lets all of the tax cuts expire, he will need the cooperation of a Republican House and perhaps a Republican Senate to restore the cuts for those earning less than $200,000.

Obama will have to have the cooperation of a Republican House and perhaps a Republican Senate for any budget compromise to bring an end to his debilitating string of five straight trillion-dollar deficits.

Having accomplished nothing in the past two years, how would Obama accomplish anything in the next four after such a campaign?"

The cost of winning ugly (http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/the-cost-of-winning-ugly/)

I would love to suggest to Romney that he "let it all hang out"...go after Obama on the same personal level...the attempted bribery of Wright by Obama (validated by the secret service)..the many lies about his background...fast and furious....and so much more, but this has become so sad and that kind of politics is not something I enjoy so I wont make that statement.

Obama has now drug the Presidency to new lows, totally invalidated anything he said about the presidency and as the article suggests, he will need to do what he keeps threatening...run this country by his edicts and if you don't like it...tough....invest and inject the federal government into everything and every industry (as he said yesterday)

"Mr. Hope and Change, the figure who once inspired millions, died a long time ago. In his stead stands a Chicago pol who barnstorms the country calling Republicans political lap dogs of millionaires and billionaires who refuse to pay their fair share of taxes."

Two choices in this election. Vote for the Socialist or vote for the Capitalist. I'm staying with what made this country the best in the world.

It IS becoming that simple isn't it ? I am very anti Obama administration but in the past never saw it to be that clear cut, but it is....he said yesterday he wants to do the same thing he did with auto in all industries.....pretty straightforward.

A new direction with the government control or the system that got us here...seems that simple.

PLUS...if you read the link I attached in the opening....I requote...

He is not justing waging a political campaign, he is hell bent on turning everybody against him and rule by presidential edicts and believe it or not, there are those on this forum and in this country who would prefer that kind of dictatorship skirting the constitution rather than even making an effort.

HE, not the super pacs...HE is using some pretty strong and personal language and laying out that rich versus poor thing very clearly !

You sort of make a valid point and the point is well taken although the Presidents personal language and demeanor sort of fly in the face of that comparison as those were all super pacs, but nevertheless you make a point.

Well, McCain would not get personal and I guess Romney will not either..while I wish he would (he has so much more to work with) I suppose I would rather err on the side of being just a bit ethical.

what happened to obama's request for civility? lol

I watched a video this morning on you tube, sent to me from 2008 when he decried and went on and on about the negative advertising, etc.

This has been his mode of operation since his younger days in Chicago...if you read the little excerpt I posted yesterday, he is a down and dirty brawler.

Some on here applaud that a a good politician I suppose.

This gets more and more interesting...

"Deflecting continued questions about a controversial ad from a Democratic-aligned super PAC, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney insisted Friday that a candidates’ campaign is powerless over third-party ads.

But he took the opposite view in May when he urged Mitt Romney’s campaign to renounce a Republican donor who had considered running ads on the president’s ties to the controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright.

During Friday’s White House briefing Carney was asked whether the president agrees with an ad by pro-Obama Super PAC Priorities USA, run by former White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton, which links the shuttering of GST Steelworks, a company bought by Romney’s private equity group Bain Capital, with the death of a former GST employee’s wife six years later.

As he and campaign spokespeople have in the past few days, Carney maintained that the Obama camp has no say over outside groups’ ads.

“We do not control third-party ads,” Carney said, adding later, “I do not have any role in third-party groups that produce these ads.”

But Carney held a different view on campaigns’ responsibilities to mediate outside groups when, in May, Republican bundler Joe Ricketts was revealed to have considered investing in ads highlighting then-Sen. Obama’s ties to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his fiery former pastor.

In a briefing on May 17th, Carney suggested the Romney campaign should denounce the potential ad campaign, drafted by Republican consultant Fred Davis, but never actually implemented.

“And I think there are moments when you have to stand up and say that that's not the right way to go. And I would point to numerous comments that echo that, not just from Democrats and political observers, but by Republicans today,” he said of Davis’ proposal.

In May, Gov Romney stopped the ads using Wright...

"Mitt Romney on Thursday condemned plans by Republican strategists and a billionaire investor to run a $10-million advertising campaign linking President Obama to the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, his incendiary former pastor.

“I repudiate that effort,” Mr. Romney told reporters at an impromptu news conference Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla. “I think it’s the wrong course for a PAC or a campaign.”

Talk about a contrast in people !!

I still hold out this little bit of me that he changes his mind !

And then of course.......

"On May 27, 2012, National Journal's Major Garrett told MSNBC's Chris Matthews that the super PAC aligned with President Barack Obama, Priorities USA, is ready to launch "incendiary" ads, including ones that relate to "suicides" and ones "too emotionally powerful to be used in television ads."

He really really wants to be President it appears !
