I will just tell you this....because you like to give these links and you folks are out in hordes trying to distort any budgetary attempt since the Ryan naming.
This country has had NO...NONE budget for 3 years...NONE and no complaints from you.
His budget is not perfect and he has said that over and over and if you guys are going to just go in post opinion pieces with not justification of what you say, then I am not going to read them.
At least if I link, I read that and the other side and offer commentary...you may not like it, but just throwing links out is just a waste of intellectual time. Check both sides...the assumptions coming out of this naming is beyond comprehension !
ISSUE...the budget needs to be cut....that is a fact and is an issue. At least we have someone offering ideas

Will the senate pass it and if so, what about the President?

How about the Senate passing a budget and sending it to a H/S Conference Committee. Well, it's worth a try.

The new Republican Senate will pass it and then President Romney will sign it, for our first budget in 4 years, in late January 2013, or maybe in early February.

yes, marian, congress must be concerned for the cuts - too bad it was not concerned enough to avoid sequester when it could have!
after reading the article, i'd love to have a discussion with marian! sorta along these lines:
excuse me, but re 'income and wealth equality' - is that a function of a capitalist or socialist economic policy? i thought the united states of america was all about the opportunity to grow one's personal income and wealth - am i wrong?
'It’s way past time to reset our moral and economic compass'- isn't that what obama policies have been trying to accomplish? and instead, since 2008, income and wealth equality has increased? what's wrong with those policies?
"...demand a more just tax system where those with the most pay their fair share..." - how about a new tax system where EVERYONE pays their fair share if we can reach a determination of what a fair share is? or what about a system where EVRYONE EXCEPT the most indigent/needy pay something so that they, too, have a stake in the game?
"...stop the reverse Robin Hood policies that take from the poor and young to give to the rich and powerful." - but the country is following the lead of their elected representatives - who are doing nothing - and who do not have a president to lead them into negotiation and compromise. perhaps the president should get congress to get off the 'my way or the hiway' horse!...but that would require the president to evolve to that theory as well - don't see that happening any time soon.
"...as long as millions of children in America are poor, hungry, uneducated and without health coverage." - well, why don't we just redirect some of that foreign that we send to other nations to saving the children of america? if there is money left over, we can support the children of other nations. until then, the other nations will have to count on the continued donations from america's private sector and religious institutions!
"Those who caused the deficit should be asked to pay to close it and not be rewarded with more tax breaks which will increase the deficit..." - i sure hope this woman is including the stimulus spending as well as her implication of tarp funds! why do i think she is not? hah!
"...then speak up and fight back." - and before any more money is spent on assistance programs - demand an audit of every one of them, off-load the program scammers and eliminate the administrative bloat in every program - and then redistribute the resulting funding after identifying where the funds are most needed in order to do the most goood! we have seen over the course of this administration where throwing more good money after bad money has gotten us!
i fail to see where the children’s defense fund has provided a fiscal justification for their request to be exempt from tax cuts and justification as to why it needs more money. i only hear a request for more! i believe there are good things that this fund does, but until i can see/read/understand those justifications, marian will just have to accept that i already gave.
