I would disagree with Shipley's comment, "Everyone here is so self-absorbed."
Shipley leads the Democratic party here, it says.

Wow the off the wall comments were really distastefull regarding single women here in TV. And made by a women who owns a business on the town square in Lake Sumter . I wont be going to visit her shop, not nice....

I read the comments you refer to and found it all in good fun and very much like conversations I hear all around me every day. I would hope we don't punish a business for some very harmless comments of an employee.

Let's try to keep the discussion to the article without venturing into partisan politics. If not, this thread will have to be moved to the political forum.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Decent article but a little over the top when talking about Lake Sumter Landing.
The political part of it is right. Lots more Republicans here than Democrats. I do not talk politics on a daily basis (except on this forum) and do not hear a lot spoken.
Great place to live and I could care less if it is Republican or Democrat here.
Oh, it is time for one of those vodka tonics - light on the tonic, please.

The article is worth reading. The Villages is 5 sq. miles! What a hoot!

I avoid talking politics or religion except on TOTV. The real world arguments can get too intense too fast.
Good article.
