Just curious....does anyone know where the Daily Sun gets their precipitation measurements that are on p.2 of Local section????? Since last Friday they have shown only "trace precipitation" and on Sunday morning after Friday and Saturdays downpours here in Sabal Chase I dumped 4 inches out of my rain gauge and then yesterday afternoon we had torrential downpours several times in afternoon???????

The VHA, try this link (http://www.thevha.net/villages-drought-conditions) for long term precip info.

The summer rains in TV are usually very localized, meaning there might be a torrential downpour in one section but another section only hears thunder with no rain. The reports in the paper may be correct for wherever they take the readings, but it doesn't mean it pertains to all TV.

Each time I've rented in TV, each house had Comcast. There was a channel (maybe Channel 99?) that simulcast WVLG and showed the weather forecast and weather statistics for The Villages 24/7. It would show the current temp. and precipitation measurement for Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing, Colony Cottage, a location at the far north end of TV (Mulberry Grove?), and Brownwood was added as of June when I was last in TV. The precipitation measurement would show how much had fallen at that location since midnight. Some days there was quite a difference between the rainfall amounts at the different locations.
