Good News....Found the solution for endless dog scratching for our little dachshund....The dog did not have food allergy...He had allergy to the pesticide in and around the house...Solution, you have to change the ph of pet's skin by bathing in baking soda bath...We used one box of baking soda in sink of warm water, poured solution over dog for 5 minutes...Do not rinse, towel dry....May need to repeat but we noticed an instant change in our little dog....Hope it works for you also

Can't you find a pesticide that is not toxic to pets (and maybe humans)??

Good News!!!:pepper2: I'm happy that your little buddy doesn't have to be a cone head.

Regarding pesticides, we never allow the inside of our home to be sprayed, it isn't necessary. We spray the perimeter and on the rare occasion we see a bug we use a non toxic sticky pad.

Will not spray in house from now on!....Will look for non-toxic sticky pads...

Glad to hear your little guy is feeling better. I've heard of oatmeal for itchy skin, but not baking soda so thanks for the tip!

I'm very relieved to hear that, and so glad for the puppy. You learn something new every day!

Thanks for posting. We are working on balancing PH because of an itchy skin issue from psyllium. Never thought about it re the dogs! Thanks for sharing and I'll add it to my remedy list and check it out first if she starts to scratch too much again. It is so easy to fix.

Hi There...do the pesticides you mention include what they spray the lawns with? I also heard that adding Kelp to the dogs diet might greatly help skin allergies that are not otherwise detected from allergy testing.

Didn't this leave a powdery residue on the dog's coat?
