Scott Mac had a great soft voice. He sang the anthem for the end of the 60's. San Francisco. I believe (PAPPA) John Phillips wrote it for him.

I never made it to San Francisco in the 60s but I did wear some flowers in my hair. RIP Scott.

I saw Scott Mckenzie touring with "The mamas and the papas" two years ago.

ok it was just Denny Daugherty (as John Phillips was getting his hip replaced). One of the mama was Spanky McFarland (Spanky and our gang - Sunday will never be the same).

Scott looked like an aging hippy (long grey hair with an old Washington Senator jersey)

and then he sang his HIT ... The pipes were still there and it sounded like summer of Love .
RIP SCOTT

I landed at SFO in late May 1967 after 13 months in Vietnam and 18 months in Germany. Went into the mens room and started to step up to the urinal when I noted that the person to my left had long straight blond hair down to the shoulder blades. I backed away and checked out the gender sign on the door - thought I was in the wrong restroom.

I think George (Beatle) Harrison wrote part of it as well.

"San Francisco", one of my all time favorite hits from the solid gold rock n roll era. You sang it well, Scott. RIP.

I was going to say something but I didn't think it was worth mentioning. I saw the same concert along with The Turtles and Grass Roots (lead singer Rob Grill also passed away a few years ago) It must have been ten years ago or close to it. Denny was the only original in M&P. Scott McKenzie was one of the replacements and he sang San Fransisco in perfect tune. McKenzie had a great voice.

Also- for the record- George Harrison had nothing to do with writing San Fransisco. It was John Phillips creation 100%
