How do you hunt them? You don't shoot them do you? Once you've killed them, what do you do with them? Or, do you not kill them? Do you just catch them and release them?

You leave those kids alone. They are just playing football and they aren't harming anyone.:boxing2:

Looks pricey to try to hunt alligator. Believe it is around $1022 to get a tag for two alligators for a non FL resident and $272 for two if you are a resident.

Not sure how much you can sell alligator meat for but my guess is it would be much less than this.

And you do not get refunds if you do not get an alligator.

Chances are that they do not hunt alligators with the idea of a profit for the hide or the meat. It is primarily for their joy of killing an animal with a high powered rifle, hunting bow, harpoon, or giant treble hook.

I cannot imagine experiencing joy by killing an animal.

Me neither....especially in their own habitat.

So does the non-resident flip a coin to determine the price?

Oops. I meant to write $272 for two tags for FL residents. $1022 for non-residents for two tags.

Looks a lot cheaper if you hire an alligator trapper and assist him or her. Not sure how that works though.

Personally, I think these macho guys and gals should have to fight the alligator with only a knife.

Or....get in the water and wrestle them, like the "Alligator Hunter" Steve Irwin used to do.

Sometimes the "sportsman" snags the alligator with a giant treble hood on a rope and then harpoons the alligator once it is securely imbedded on the hook. Other times, they use a high powered rifle to shoot the alligator from a safe distance.

I think the idea of the hunting knife vs the alligator is the best idea for these "sportsmen".

Maybe we can organize a hunt for pigs, cows, chickens and fish.

The Gators also play volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, softball, baseball, lacrosse, tennis, swimming, running and probably a number of other sports too. Maybe even boxing??

Doubt they wrestle gators though.

Tough bunch here for sure, I’m not taking a side here being native to Florida, with Gator being part of our basic diet. When you think about it, if Gators & Frogs meat was harvested like Beef, Chicken & Pork, was nicely wrapper and placed in the meat section of the grocery store for the last 100 years to date. Would people really be opposed to it? Come on we all eat hot dogs. (lol) Vegetarians don’t count. I have never researched the seasonal gator hunting program, sounds a little much to me. Please no pitch forks and flaming torches, I respect every ones prospective. Chuckinca you will have to scratch the hog hunt, it already being done.
