This is a question for any of you long-time residents of TV. Back in 2003-2004 when Florida was hit with several hurricanes did The Villages suffer long periods without electricity? With most of the utilities being underground I would hope the time without electricity was minimal.

I live in Calumet Grove and we did not have any power outages. We had a lot of rain and wind - a little scary at times but no significant damage that I was aware of.

Villages has buried lines which greatly reduces wind damage to power systems.

We bought just after the year of 5 hurricanes. The damage people reported to us were lost roof shingles on older homes. Major risk is tornadoes that spin off hurricanes. then flying objects are a big problem. Put those grills and chairs inside.

I never lost power or any utilities in Santiago in 2004, but the surrounding area lost power for almost a week, which meant there were no gas stations open among other things. According to the Daily Sun, Spanish Springs area lost power for a short time, and the radio station was broadcasting by flashlight. Many big oak trees were toppled by the storms.
