We're getting ready for the design process on a Zinnia. I'm trying to figure out if a built-in desk could fit in the office area of the laundry. I would appreciate it if someone with a laundry / office could post the dimensions of the 3 walls in the office area. I'm hoping an L shape will fit. (one wall and under the window)

Also, if you have a Zinnia with an add on golf cart garage, could you tell me how long the cart garage is.
Thanks for your help

I have an IRIS model and had a small desk (about 5ft wide by 2 ft deep) which I placed facing the back wall under the window. It fit ok, but just felt crowded and a bit claustrophobic. For me, I think the room would be better utilized with added cabinets for storage.

I don't know how big a golf cart garage is, but I was tol you need to have a lot that is at least 70 feet wide.

We have an Iris. We had an existing table style desk that is approx 54" wide. (The wall under the window is approx 67" wide). We positioned it facing the back of the kitchen wall, close to the window wall, which made the room feel less crowded than under the window. We also added a wall cabinet behind the desk (on the back of the garage wall) that butts up against the corner next to the window - we ordered it from the cabinet people. It has 2 cabinet doors with shelves inside to hold office supplies & 3 small drawers at the bottom - perfect "junk" drawers. The cabinet was installed at the same height as the existing ones over the w/d area and is 2-feet off the floor - leaving plenty of room for the kitty box (or a paper shredder, etc) Since it is only 25" wide, the area behind the desk chair is open and the room does not feel crowded. A couple of hooks on that wall for hats, etc, and a couple of floating shelves over the desk for a printer, in/out box, etc., and the room works great for us.

Skyhawk: A couple of comments as we are out of TV for the summer----sorry we can't help you with wall dimensions. We have a Lily and found the "office" in the laundry room to be very efficient and useful. For one thing, you almost always come into your house through the garage and we setup a couple of trays for incoming and pending mail. Works for us! We even found room for a file cabinet in the space. If you want to save some money, get your office furniture/extra cabinets designed and built following construction. We found a desk at Showcase Direct that fit the space perfectly. The same goes for any other upgrades for your new house. Just a thought. Add any additional square feet to your house, lanai and garage you desire in design and as many upgrades after construction and you can save several thousand dollars. Good luck---the Zinnia is a beautiful home.

Hi A-4, I've got a Zinnia in the building process and I'll check the width and depth of the GC garage this evening when I go over. From just looking, it appears to be larger than my aunts GC garage on her Mandeville. I'll let ya know!

We picked lot 206.142 which has to have a Golf Cart Garage. Wish it was a little deeper so we could bump the Lania and add a bay window to the front bedroom. Our sales rep says we're pinned on the front and back.:ohdear: We love the lot and location, so we're willing to give up a little.
