Okay, so what does everyone think about Davis Loves Captains picks?

Like it has always been in Ryder Cup, if the U.S. wins, the picks won't be controversial. If the U.S. loses, Davis will be second guessed in perpetuity. I was somewhat surprised to read Jim Furyk's Ryder Cup record this morning - overall 7 wins, 12 losses and 3 ties. Not all that stellar. But he does tend to win his singles matches.

I think they were the picks everyone expected. Snedeker is a great putter, and that is a great strength to have in the Ryder cup. Having experienced ryder cup players like Sticker and Furyk are great additions, and lets remember that Furyk was just one bad swing away from winning a major. And Dustin Johnson is long off the tee, something that is a real asset at Medina. Hunter Mahan has not been playing well for a few months now, and I didn't really expect him to be picked. All in all, Love's picks strengthened an already strong team. Now we will have to see if they can play as a team....that's the part the Europeans are better at.

I totally agree, Furyk is a great pick. But I also think that being one bad stroke away from winning a major and not making that stroke could be interpreted as a major choke. Personally I really like the pick, but he looked awful coming down those last few holes . . . I just hope he has recovered from it.

Furyk should have been bypassed to bring in new blood. He's had his glory days.

Furyk should have not been picked. his record speaks for itself. Mahan playing much better.

Actually Mahan is not playing very well at all lately. He was #1 in the Ryder Cup standings after the Masters and dropped out of the top 8. I'm not hot on the Furyk pick, either, but the hotter player than both Furyk and Mahan right now would have been Watney.
