stopped in at Havanna tonight to give it another try after a years absence... it was worse than ever - the nacho's had "Cheese whiz" on them and again our food came out cold...no service at the high tops in the bar, another inconvenience. I will NEVER go back again... you would think they would be able to get it right after such a long time...

Here we go again.......................

BTW, why is it so many first time posters seem to post a restaurant complaint?
Do they eat in a restaurant and then discover TOTV? Just wondering/

.... and then go "off line" almost immediately after posting???

very curious!!!

What a shame!

Some people just refuse to tolerate mediocrity in silence.

It is so unreasonable for them to believe that they can seek commiseration in a forum comprised of friends and neighbors.

We were in Havana tonight and sat next to the high tops. There most certainly was service there as our server was also serving them! I agree about the first post being a complaint. By the way, the music there was great! A duo called Diamonds and Spurs.

We ate there last week. Sat at the tables. Food was good, sever keep our drinks filled. A little slow getting the meal, but it was hot and as good as any of the TV country clubs. It was our first time back in about 8 months. Much improved. :pepper2:

Bad food is bad food whether it's eaten by a first time poster or not. I also avoid the place like the plague. Enjoy it if you like but don't criticize folks just because they don't.

I agree Havana has had some issues over the 3 years we've been here however the new menu and venue changes have been a great improvement and I understand there's more on the way.My last 4 meals off the new menu have been great and considering the snow birds aren't back yet the parking lot is pretty darn full . As for a bad meal I've seen some responses about staying home if you want a good meal. well here's a question have you ever bought a great looking steak or roast and then when you cook it it's so damn tough or tasteless it's horrible. If you don't like the place and won't go back that's fine because then that's one less person taking my seat.Chris keep up the good work. Waiting for the next change. How many more days.

The issue with Havana seems to be consistency...whether food or service.

We were also there on Friday with a rather large group (14) and while the food was ok (I think one person sent their meal back?), the service was not so good. When the checks came, almost everyone at the table had errors on their checks.. ie. someone else's meal and/or drinks. We had 3 servers for our table and they had big problems keeping everything straight. We go out often, as a group, so we know how to sit to it make easy for the server(s) to pair up couples. Somehow, this concept completely escaped our servers... :undecided:

We really like Havana and will continue to go there. In fairness, Havana is getting better and we'll be glad when they start firing on all cylinders...

Does anyone reading this thread have close or personal access to the management at Havana? It might be helpful to print this thread and give it to the person that could turn things around. Let them know that about 25000 of their local perspective customers have access to this information. Too many times folks will have a bad experience and simply smile, pay the bill and never come back. I believe management would like customer opinions, good or bad. It is the responsibility of customers to make their comments to those responsible and not to those that have no horse in the race. Havana is our restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and location so lets everybody make it work.

Maybe you could print and give to management, no?

I have spoken to Chris several times regarding TOTV and he now has someone who monitors the site as well as doing posting on their WEB page. He has taken steps to make corrections and there are other changes coming in the near future, We frequent many restaurants in TV and have had similar problems with wait service as well as bills so it's not only Havanas problem

Thank you. This is the way it should be handled.

and.......when not satisfied for what ever reason....was it reported to the management?

All too often folks are willing to tell their neighbors how bad something may have been but FAIL to bring it to the attention of those who can do something about it.

If there is no management or owner available, ask for their name, phone number, etc. You do owe it to yourself, your neighbors and the owners to follow up. You will find out soon enough if the problem is the people who work there or the people who own/run it.

Had lunch at Havana yesterday with a golf group and the food and service was excellent. The kitchen was slammed when numerous large groups came off the course at the same time due to the rain. Server explained the situation and brought pitchers of drinks during the wait (1 tea, 1 sweet tea, 1 Coke, 1 water for the 4 at our table). The 3 lunch specials for $6.99 which included the drink were very good especially the chicken salad croissant with fries or slaw.
If you're not too hungry, the small side salad for $1.99 is a good deal.

I have eaten at Havana twice in the last couple of weeks and was very pleased both times. Service was good, and food served timely and hot.

Sounds like they got the message, so I will be headed that way in the next day or so to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Are "high tops" new in Havana?? I only recall booths and regular tables around the bar area.
