Suggestion -- go on the web site for Sweet Tomatoes which is a buffet on 441/227:
Lady Lake (Villages)
508 US 27/441
Lady Lake, FL 32159 Tel: 352-751-2500
I'm not sure if Sweet Tomatoes is golf cart accessible. Go on Google and type in Sweet Tomatoes coupons to see if you can find anything.

There is a Chinese buffet in Southern Trace Shopping Center on 466 near Publix. There is a Golden Corral farther West down 466 near Walmart.

There is a salad bar at Ruby Tuesday's in Spanish Springs.

There is a salad and soup bar at Sweet Tomatoes on 441 near Rolling Acres Road.

Supposedly there is a salad bar at Sonny's Barbeque in Sumter Landing.

Those are the only buffet type foods that I know about. If you're only here 48 hours it would be nice to go to Lighthouse in Sumter Landing. They have really good fish and a nice patio to sit on and overlook Lake Sumter then you can walk to the square afterwards.

Don't forget about the Italian Buffet at Tierra Del Sol on Sat. nights!

Gave up stuffing my face in my 30's .........found out I enjoy a nice relaxed meal with good service and a glass of wine. No more lines at the food troughs for me. JMHO

The Golden Corral on CR 466 is a good deal, they offer endless choices. I think they have special prices for seniors. I try not to go there as I can't be trusted around mountains of food. :mmmm:

can a humble opinion ever be a haughty opinion or a disparaging opinion?

Have to agree,i gave up buffets after college, enjoy the dining experience. But if your looking for a "bang for your buck" a buffet is definitely an option in TV.

If you're looking for a good buffet outside the Villages, take a drive to Lake Panasoffkee and go to Harbor Lights. Great weekend buffet. It's about 35 - 40 minutes south down 75.

we could go in so many directions here (i'm maintaining a 140 lb weight loss for over 10 years, and you????) please do not call it a trough, as we formerly fat folk and even those not formerly do not like to be compared to farm animals <wink>

in any case, i'm still looking for the information so i can have the specials sent to my email from the restaurants in the villages....

thanks, all

Here's the best source/listing/reviews I've seen for restaurants in the TV area:

The Villages Gourmet Club Restaurant Review Site (http://thevillagesgourmetclub.com/)

Doesn't directly address the O.P.'s question but it should provide good reference for future trips..........since the 48 hour window you mentioned has about passed.

I think asianthree's reference (post #2) to "go to the restaurants websites" wasn't referring to one site that had all the restaurants' websites - I think the intent was to check into the websites for specific restaurants that interested you. But I might be off-base........... :D

Hope you enjoyed your stay!

njsonja, 48 hours is NOT enough time.

We treat eating out like a game in our household:
Monday is AYCE wings at Mallory, Tuesday is double points day at Gator's, Wednedsay is Wine Wednesday at Carrabba's & BOGO fajitas at Cody's, Thursday is AYCE pasta at Mallory & Jimmy is on the patio at Sonny's on Thursday & Friday... and the list goes on.

Almost every restaurant here has a special at some point during the week. That's the challenge... and I'll take that challenge! :)

of course it's not!

i came down to furnish the house....husband still needs to work a few years...there's no list with all the specials or email list that has it? one needs to be started!

I'd have to think the specials at each restaurant would be constantly changing. Tough job to keep such a list 100% accurate........
