Being Chinese, and wanting something that is fairly clean and not over sauced or wilted, I have to say that I haven't found a buffet. But I have found that Cheng's and Bamboo Bistro do a great job. A few years ago we went to a buffet up in Spanish Plaines I think and it was quite good. The buffet in Leesburg across from Walmart was also OK. But haven't found any buffet that is outstanding.

Now if you like Dim Sum, the trip to Ming's Court on International Drive in Orlando is well worth the trip. I expect that their meals are all worth while. The setting is spectacular and the food is fabulous. Must find out if they have a buffet at any time. Somehow I doubt it, but if you go with group you can all share and try out all kinds of dishes.

Thank you "Both" for your responses. We're in the final stages of making the permanent move to TV and were hoping to find a good Chinese Buffet. We like trying a little bit of a variety of dishes and a buffet is perfect for that.
Thanks again

I like the Chinese Buffet in Spanish Plains shopping center much better than the one on Wedgewood Lane. The one on Wedgewood is very, very dirty.

I agree that Chengs on CR 466 is much better than the chinese food buffet at Southern Trace Plaza. Chengs is usually very busy. The buffet at Southern Trace (on Wedgewood) is usually not busy at all.

There,s one on 441 just past the old walmart going toward leesburg. Not bad, and big variety.

Being from the San Francisco area, I'll have to try that Dim Sum.

Thanks for the heads up!

China Town in NYC spoiled me. So all I can say is this...

A good Chinese buffet/restaurant in or close to The Villages? NO NO NO NO! Will have to try the Orlando one next time we're there because, in my opinion, there are no good ones locally or even close by.

Same goes for Mexican. After visiting and eating in Mexico, no restaurants in The Villages come close.

Agree about Chinatown.
Funny note about Mexican. There is a great Mexican restaurant in Edinburgh, Scotland. Yes. The Scot who owns it lived in Mexico for a few years and decided to bring it home. Very popular and very, very good food.

We are coming down tomorrow so will be there to try it out later this week. Can't wait! Just had a great chinese meal here and figured it was our last for a while, so it is such good news to hear that we can get Dim Sum without having to leave the bubble. Thanks for the heads up.

I agee, there are no good chinese retaurants near The Villages. A good chinese retaurant should have fresh food, not a buffet with food sittiing a bowl getting soggy.

Good and Buffet are mutually exclusive.
