We had All-Star perform the annual check-up and cleaning of our A/C system. We had them last year and they did a good, thorough job..This year, after 10 minutes, they informed us that we had mold which was also in our air ducts and that we needed to immediately install a UV system to combat and eliminate the mold. This system would cost approx. $4000.00.. We told the tech that we would get a second opinion. He re-taped the ducts and said that the person coming for the second opinion would not need to re-open the system since we already knew about the mold!!! (What a joke!!)
We had Chuck Farrell do the re-inspection and there was no mold (it was dirt) and no UV system was necessary...there apparently are some A/C outfits who try to convince homeowners about the mold and that they need the system.
We just wanted to let you know our experience and to beware of All-Star and would also like to recommend Chuck Farrell.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I received a "cold call" yesterday and they called again today. The price sounded good, so of course I was suspicious! I will throw their information away!

So, you have 2 opinions.... How do you decide the correct one?
