We'll be here permanently in early November and I am not bringing the current lawn mower I have.

Has anyone tried using an electric on the Zoysia yards here? If so, how do they work?

I'd like to get an electric but I'm a little leary that they will be able to generate the torque necessary to cut the Zoysia.

With most homes having cutting, trimming and chemical weeding for around fifty dollars a month...think long and hard about buying a new mower. Lawn services abound.

Electric motors/mowers have more torque than a gas powered engine. I just depends on the HP of the electric motor.

I did the lawn service for 2 and 1/2 years and just went out and bought all new lawn equipment to do it myself. 3 mows into self reliance and I am very happy with some good sweat equity to boot. You will not save much money if any, but I get personal satisfaction from doing the lawn myself. It looks better and I never have to wait for anyone to get it done when it seems a bit too long.

I've always used my B&D electric battery powered mower on the zoysia since moving to The Villages. No problem.

All my lawn equipment is electric except the mower. I couldn't find a self propelled mower in electric. The best thing about electric is it will always start. The problem with electric is the cord and I never have much luck with rechargeable, less torque and limited battery life.

I do my own with a self-propelled Lawn Boy. I cut the grass at 3 1/2 inches and it looks much better than the neighbors that use the fly over lawn services that cut the grass about 1 1/2 inches and gone in ten minutes. Some of the yards you can even see scalp areas in the yard. Let alone the benefit of the exercise.

Ditto. :agree: It's about the exercise! We all need more.

What about an old fashioned push mower with people power? I own a patio villa so only have a postage stamp size of grass. GO GREEN
