This morning I headed over to Cals in Lake Sumter Landing to get a haircut. I waited for just a bit and kept looking around....something seemed different. All the lovely hairdressers and barbers were there, giving haircuts to people, but something just seemed off. Finally when I sat down for my trim, I mentioned to the girls that it looked "empty" for some reason. There were no decorations on the mirrors, no pictures of family or friends at each station, no information on little contests that were played every once in a while, no seasonal decorations. Made me feel kind of sad. Cals downtown reminded me so much of a small town shop with the seasonal decorations and personal touches. They aren't there now...and the "feel" I had when there has changed. Sort of reminds me of the movie, Barbershop 2....when Calvin decides he needs to change the atmosphere of his little shop. The service is still the same, wonderful, but some of the charm is missing.
I know things change, but this customer feels a bit of a loss. If you're a customer at Cals in LSL, have you noticed this change and if so, does it bother you?
