- All contractors in CT. have to be registered /licensed with the State .
Anyone can call the dept of Consumer protection and get that information along with any complaints and resolution's.
I haven't seen any indication of licenses here; Do they have them ?

In Florida, contractors also have to be licensed. Those licenses are issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). You can call them or check online at DBPR Professions - Construction Industry Licensing Board (http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/pro/cilb/index.html) for a valid contractors license for any company. Complaints are handled, in Florida, by the Florida Department of Agriculture, Division of Consumer Services. Again, you can call for a complaint history for any company or look the up online at https://csapp.800helpfla.com/cspublicapp/businesssearch/businesssearch.aspx.

I "think" that some get around that by calling themselves handymen. They keep a low profile and don't advertise, relying on word of mouth. Got semi-burned that way once. Not again, I hope.
