View Full Version : Need sign for house number

I need one of those signs to hang on my lamp post so I can display my house number. I've been a Villager for almost 13 years and never had one. I used to see them at "market night" but I haven't been to the squares in quite a while. Is that the only way to get one? And is it usual to pay for them in advance? I'm not sure of the best way to go about getting one.
Thanks.

They still have them on market night. I don't know of another way to get them besides, there are many different shapes and sizes so you'll probably want to look at samples. You have to pay in advance.

Pack n ship store in Colony Plaza had them for sale / order. Havent been in in awhile but more than likely they still have them. Otherwise the market nights are ways to see them and buy them.

That's the easiest, and what I'm gonna do......just can't decide.

Don't worry if you can't decide, you can always change signs. We're on our third and this last one is a lighted sign. Have fun!

I am so excited to see this thread as I close on Dec 5th and have been thinking about a lamp post sign! I checked the website (thanks skyguy) and see there is a lot to choose from. Guess I'll have to check them out at the squares!!

On closing our sales rep gave us a free coupon to get ours and we weren't limited to what we wanted.
Have heard a lot of the sale reps do this.

Our realtor gave us a coupon for our sign also. But by the time we got done choosing, had to add extra cash. Best way to decide or help to decide is to climb into the golf cart and ride around!! Gets lots of ideas and you are also able to see how the color combinations look. Have to be careful with the colors of your sign, since it may have a tendency to disappear as your home becomes the background color.

We also used Webb Signs for our front sign. Very nice man to work with and our sign is beautiful.

Can't go wrong at market night. And as an earlier poster indicated, they even install it for you. If you are uncomfortable paying in advance, I believe they take credit cards.

Same here. The sign company rep came to our house with samples, once we decided on a style it was installed in a matter of a few days.

We also purchased our sign from fewebb.com & we are very happy with it. It is made from a product that does not fade. He sent us a proof before it was cut, installed it for us & then he sent us a picture. When we arrived 2 weeks ago, there it was!

Market night is where vendors set up booths at either Spanish Springs or Lake Sumter Landing (depending on the night of the week). chuckinca posted the nights for each town square that market nights are held. Hope that helps.

I highly recommend F.E. "Bud" Webb, Monday & Wednesday evenings at the Spanish Springs Town Square.
Also has a web site (http://www.fewebb.com/Pages/default.aspx).

Heard from 2 people that they rec'd coupons from their realtor for signs to be purchased from a vendor at town square. In both cases, the "holes" didn't line up with the plate; therefore, they had to drill new holes. But if the vendor promises installing it, that shouldn't be a problem. Ace Hardware plates do line up (from what I'm told).

We were in Lake Sumpter Landing on Tuesday night and purchased ours from Signs by Jackie. They were extremely patient and helpful. Didn't rush us and seemed to want us to have the perfect sign for our home.Very nice folks. I am very happy so far. Will pick up the sign in a day or two.

You can sort of make your sign your own. When we lived on Havana Trail in Hadley, ours had our names and then said Havana Blast. The new one, since we live in Laurel Valley has an olive branch and says Resting on our Laurels.
You can also add your pets name or something indicative of your interest. Like vegetables for Villages Pl. with his number superimposed on it.

Village graphics on vendor nite at Lake Sumter are the only ones who will install your sign and give you a new cross-bar for free.
