I can't get over the ignorance of some people. I just had a woman walk her dog into my back yard and between houses for her dog to take a crap.
I informed her that she was not on common property , that it was private property belonging to me and my neighbor. She acted as if it were no big deal, stating that she was visiting a friend down the street, and that she also lives in TV.She should have let the dog crap in her friends yard.
Well shouldn't she be aware of the nature of our existence here.
All dog owners should be shocked and distressed by this woman's actions.
No excuse for this kind of behavior.:censored:

I agree, one should not walk their dogs on someone else's property. Having said that, years ago we solved a "problem child" who walked her dogs and let them on people's property (and not just on the edge of the lawn, she allowed the retractable lead to play out so the dogs were a good 10-15 feet this woman lived, took our dogs to her property and let our dogs return the favor. We cleaned up after our dogs, but the homeowner was mad that we let our dogs on her property. She got the message-at least we never saw her walking her dogs in our neighborhood.

Next time walk outside with a box of Kleenex and tell the idiot to pick up Fido's "business" and carry it back with her.

This is a BIG hot button for me personally. I live on a corner lot near the front of a subdivision. It is NOT ok for your dog to step on even a single blade of grass let alone take a dump or pee on my lawn.

I've been quiet since I'm "the new guy" but I'm over it. I'm going to light these people up.

CURB YOUR DOG AND STAY OFF MY LAWN UNLESS YOU'RE READY FOR A CONFRONTATION!

Oh, no - it's the dog poop thread again.

How would you like to see these 4 pooping on your lawn in the Villages? Just my humorous attempt to step out of the poo.

Of course, I have never seen a 25 or so ft bowhead whale bone on a Villages lawn. This is actually a site outside of an Alaskan Iupiaq village where they dump whale bones which attract polar bears.

Oh, no - it's the dog poop thread again.

There would not be any need for this if people used good judgement. YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO WALK THROUGH SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY WITHOUT CONSENT.. And especially to let your pet defecate on their lawn.

You can run but you cannot hide...
From a dog poop thread, just bein' snide.
Discussion will follow ad infinitum
With plastic bags and advice we will greet 'em.

Those poor furry creature are maligned
If in their yards they are not confined
To do their business, their poop, their pee.
It's the owners who make us all angry.

We will talk, and evaluate discuss and cuss.
We will come to the same conclusions and we will fuss
At the people who let their sweet puppies go
and poop at the mail drop, others yards and...whoah.

We will then talk about keeping pups from the square
And say we moved here and it just isn't fair
That you have dogs and we don't like 'em.
Especially when your dog's legs they hike 'em

ON OUR stuff, so go and keep 'em away
From where we walk and talk and play
And don't let them pee on our palm trees.
This ain't what we dreamed of, so curb 'em please.

You are welcome.

And...please read my poem carefully. I don't have a dog but I like dogs but noone likes inconsiderate dog owners and since you are new, you may not know that this very subject is often discussed.

Kind wishes,

2 nights ago in Glenbrook, while picking up our mail, I saw a woman walking her small dog without a plastic bag on her hand. I mentioned this to my husband. As I was walking to our box, I saw a black car with no driver in it. Yes, you guessed it. A few moments later, she walked from the back with her dog and got into her car to drive away.

I was angry and my husband said that she wouldn't do this on her property; I stated that her neighbors were probably watching, as well.

Question: Is it all right to say something to these people? I really get tired of seeing people do this, yet get away with it because no one says anything. Grumble, grumble.

Really like this. I have not had any urge to write a song/poem about something on TOTV for quite some time. Thank God I do not have to do one about doggy doo doo.

Maybe its time that the villages starts looking at this dog issue. So many people complaining about dogs and their owners. Maybe think about no dogs policy.

Here we go - and I would just like to say the dog bashers should please insert the word "SOME" when referring to dog owners. I believe the majority are very conscientous about what they are doing and a few are driving the rest of you crazy.:crap2:

 Agreed. The issue is not the dogs, the basic issue is one of inconsideration by PEOPLE. Whether it be another "poop debate" or as in another thread, people tossing their cigarette butts around, or people just oblivious to others when driving golf carts around, the fact is that rudeness and inconsideration are going to be around no matter where you live. Now I'll go have some popcorn as the thread grows....

My husband went to hit some golf balls today and took his cart. When he got back and drove into the driveway he noticed something had tracked from the tires into the garage. He thought it was oil so he bent down to see and guess what it was??? Yup, dog crap on the tires of the cart. Obviously someone left poop in the road. We like dogs but are becoming less tolerant of them due to amount of them in the villages. There was one in a shopping cart in Walmart yesterday. I know it's the owners fault but people give dogs a bad rap....frankly, I'm tired of them.

The survey you asked someone to help you with , Graciegirl, on dogs in the Villages certainly showed that the people who love dogs sure outnumber those who complain about them.

The Villages needs better and more area dog parks if you really want people to just walk there dogs in certain areas.

There are always going to be people who speed in their golf carts, ignore stop signs, cut you off at roundabouts, put cigarette buds on the ground, save chairs, do not pick up their dogs' poop, etc.

If people did not break the laws we would never need cops nor lawyers.

Gracie,
I am not that new. I have read the dog posts. My complaint is with ignorant, inconsiderate people. It doesn't matter whether the sore point is poop, butts, speeding, good golf manners or any other infraction of rules and /or common decency. We are adults, seniors , not 18 year old. I should think that some lessons might have been experienced about how to behave towards others and their property.
I am not against dogs. I reiterate, it is the person that was the irritant.
And again , I have to keep reminding myself, " You can't fix stupid."

How do you know it was dog poop? Did you have it tested? Y'know it could have come from those renegade omnivore bovines that TV set loose to clean things up. Could be from a coyote, don't think a cougar, but does a bear **** in the woods?

Not much opinion on Walmart, never been to one, hope I never have to. Now that I hear there was poop in the cart I'm glad I've never been.

Yes you are spot on. We live on a large corner lot and I have yellow spots and little brown piles every day from my wonderful neighbors. I tolerate it because I truly love dogs and know they are being led to my yard to S#!^ so it is not their fault. I never use the side yard on the corner anyway, and unless you are looking for it, you will never see it. I only see it when I mow the yard. These Poop discussions will never eliminate the problem, but is is nice to be able to voice your opinion about the ignorance of some Dog OWNERS. Maybe talking about it will slow the problem down.

You're right, it wouldn't empty out right away, say only 10,000 people felt that strongly, it would take a while to sell that many homes, there would be a glut in the market and the ones who reacted first would get their money back. Everyone else would take a beating.

I don't see TV looking into this, why would they?

"YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID" gets my vote.

Personally, I ALWAYS take my dog out in OUR yard to do her business then take her for a walk.

Do accidents happen even after that? Once in a great while, which is why I always have "poop bags" with me.

I'm not a genius - just trying to be considerate.

I agree all feces should be picked up. As far as walking dogs in the neighborhood , I would welcome such. As a pet owner myself, I have encountered an elderly woman who fell on her driveway and injured severely while she was trying to pick up her newspaper and had to summon a ambulance, all this took place while walking my dog. I now move her morning paper near her door every morning while walking my dog. I also keep watch on several of my neighbors homes because they are snowbirds while walking my dog. I have also noticed malfunctioning water sprinklers losing lots of water and have woke my neighbors up and notified them while walking my dog. I would hope I don't live in a neighborhood where confrontation is going to take place. I really like my neighbors and enjoy walking my dog. Some of the remarks in here are scary and sad but if it would help maybe placing a doggy bag container in certain areas might help. I would think it would be very beneficial and life saving to have such people who walk their pets in our neighborhoods as long as they clean up after them.

Well the no dog policy isn't going to happen, but it would be an issue TV"s could take up....A dog walking area in each village is something to look at, but with the price of property what it is that probably won't happen either..The major problem is there are areas where the property owner has very little yard and dogs have to walk for awhile before they go and when they go is up to the dog...Somebody always has something to say no matter where you go...Patio villas has very little yard, and condo's have none so the dog owner takes a walk...It never should be in anyones yard and when the dog go's whereever they go the owner should pick it up, but some won't...So, NOW WHAT ? Get your cell phone out and take a picture and warn them next time I will call the police...Take Action and do something,,,complaining does nothing ...

Aside from being a MENTAL MIDGET, this woman has a sense of entitlement. Did she move the innocent dog OFF OF YOUR PROPERTY? I own 2 dogs... one is a puppy... and NEVER would I allow them on another persons property to relieve themselves. I also carry bags galore and clean up as we GO along... those of other inconsiderate people as well. The dog was likely uncomfortable and embarrassed and poor thing had to go home with this idiot.
woof;(. sorry.
