There were 8 of us there last night - well drinks $1.88 (rum and coke - vodka tonic etc) Friday night is 'Tea' night - Long Island Ice Tea was $2.59 (actually had three different versions at that price) Mike the bartender was great - had a table waiting for us at 6:00 great service - good food - husband had the butterfish; I has the beef stroganoff, 2 fish/chips - all good. Sorry you had a bad experience tonight but we had a great time last night.

We've eaten at Bonifay several times and have not had anything to complain about but I'm sure everywhere has their "off" days. I particularly enjoyed the steak and wedge last week. The small filet was just the right size for lunch and you could cut it with a fork. I had a glass of wine at Lopez one night and it was $8 which I think is high but I've seen it that much in a lot of nice restaurants. Thanks for the heads up on crab legs at Orange Blossom. The place doesn't look like much but who cares if the food is good!

I truly have never, ever complained about a restaurant. So, I will break it down. I realize I may not have been there for "happy hour", and I'll also admit that I didn't ask the cost of the drinks before hand. Vodka and water were $5 each ( he had 3) White wine was $8.50 each (I had 2) Burger was 8.95 .50 more for cheese. Rueben was $8.95. Total with t&t was $61.93. This was the first time in probably 20 years that we only gave 15% tip. (Usually give 20%). We've never been here before. We decided to give each CC a try. This was the 2nd club. 1st one was Orange Bloosom for their crab legs and they were FANTASTIC. So any suggestions as to where we should try next?
Two down and eight to go.............why would it make any difference which one is next?

I've enjoyed all of my dinners at Cane. Both Glenview and Palmer have good specials on twin lobster tails (sorry can't remember which nights). I've experienced both good and bad meals at Bonifay. Consistency seems to be a problem there.

Went to Bonifay for dinner tonight. I had a hamburger and it was Ok. Husband had Rueben and it was just average. I had two glasses of plain white wine. $8.50 a glass!!!??? Holy batman!! .....couldn't believe it. They were not busy, but service was terrible. Won't be going back. Don't know if I've seen negative posts about Bonifay before. Is this a fairly typical review, or is it usually a good choice?
I am sorry you had a bad experience. We love it there and go every week.
They have specials on Wed for 6.50 to 7.00. Delicious. We go for happy hour and have dinner and 2 drinks each for around $30.00 total including tip. We sit at the bar and have excellent service.
I guess I shoulldn't be telling this because it will get too crowded. I should keep it a secret. But really do give them another try.

The breakfast and lunch buffets are great, and I typically don't go for buffets.

Just signed up for the CLUB on the Bonifay website. I see here that folks say they have Wednesday specials, does anyone know if they still have an email Wednesday special? What is your favorite thing to eat there? I have been on another visit and had a pasta that was wonderful but I'm not sure if it was on the menu or a special.

Watch out for the huge swarms of flies if you eat outside or use the outdoor bar. The flies are all over the table, the bar, the silverware, the food, and the rims of the drink glasses.
Really disgusting!
Inside, Bonifay has a very pretty bar area and a nice beachy feel to the restaurant. Food is pretty good inside.

I thought they had roll down screens installed out at the bar. Saw them rolled up a few weeks ago. Are they not using them?

try this trick for the flies...carry along a little plastic baggie with about five ounces of water and three pennies in it....supposed to dazzle their 100 eyes and keep them away? it seemed to work for me in another location. my favorite dish at bonifay is the southern pot roast! delicious. but now that i will try to be a vegetarian i guess i have had my last bite of that :( don't know if i can do it! :)

There used to be a cuban restaurant in Crystal River that utilized this trick and it seemed to work. The interior of the restaurant was open on two sides to the outside dining. Hanging from the top of the walk-through on both sides were four or five large clear plastic, water-filled bags. Never experienced a problem with flies at all and the place was right there on the water on King's Bay.
