We like to eat breakfast out often but find a limited selection of decent places to eat. We've tried Athens (not our favorite), Too Jays (like it but getting tired of the same place), Sunrise Cafe (like it but getting tired of going there too), and Bonifay (not our favorite). We tend not to like buffets. Anyone else find a good place to eat breakfast? :icon_hungry::icon_hungry:

Love First Watch
I also like First Watch. They use fresh ingredients and it is quite good. Just down the road on 441 is Cracker Barrel which does a pretty good job, but I always wind up eating too much there! IHOP has a senior menu for breakfast. I usually get the senior omelette that comes with 2 pancakes. And of course, the best bagels in town at Brooklyn Water Bagels in the Best Buy shopping plaza on Rolling Acres and 441.

If you are talking about in TV's then you already eliminated one of our favorite places, Athens. How about Katie Bells?
If you are talking about outside of TV's then I could give you several many places that are within an hour of here that are excellent.

Billy's on Rte 27 across from Walmart, Mary's Kitchen in Belleview, and the Dam Diner in Oklawaha. These are typical workingman's type diners. Good food at reasonable prices. Guess they are still OK, haven't been in TV since May.

The ones you mention above are some of the most popular, looking at previous feedback on TOTV.
If you are looking for gourmet breakfast............you will not find it in or near TV.
Maybe define what you mean by "decent places".

Katie Belle's. Buffet is excellent. If you don't like the buffet they prepare delicious omelettes ( you choose the ingredients). Cracker Barrel's streusel French toast...yummmmmmmmy!

Here's another vote for Billy's on 441. I also really like the Cottage Inn on 441 in Lady Lake. It's a little working man's diner right next to a barber shop and the Par-Car dealership. Both places have good food and great prices. Gourmet breakfasts aren't my thing though.

Hands down Cracker Barrel. Second choice Perkins. Third choice Bob Evans :) Depends what you like to eat. I think CB has the best french toast and pancakes. And more food than you can possibly eat in one setting. (well for most folks :) )

and then there is mcdonalds for the hotcakes and sausages. the hotcakes are the lightest and fluffiest around; unfortunately it is not the bargain that they used to be. still, meals for 2 for under $10.00 and no tipping.

Billy's on 441 has great pancakes and omlets
About 15 minutes north in Bellvue is Aunt Fannies that have biscuits to die for - rest of food is pretty good also

Billy's on 441 close to and across the street from Walmart is a great breakfast old style diner. Their version of cheese blintzes (they call 'em rollups) is to die for, as is their Greek omelet!

We went to First Watch up near Spanish Springs. My husband loves the food there (especially the huge pancakes), while I'm not wild about it (except the yogurt parfait with granola, fruit, and a side muffin-du-jour). The service was very slow, and it wasn't overly crowded. The waitress told us a First Watch is supposed to be opening "some time" in Colony Plaza (south of 466-A).

Not my favorite, but if out shopping and needing a brunch ... try the Brooklyn Water Bagel breakfast fare. BIG bagel sandwich! My wife and I found that each ordering one was a mistake. We don't eat like birds, but one would have been enough for us both, easily!

If you want something different and memorable, try The House of Blues Gospel Brunch on Sundays in Downtown Disney. Good food and great entertainment. No gripe with Cracker Barrel, First Watch, Perkins, etc. but a change of pace is good once in a while.

My in laws go to Billy's Cafe at least t wice a week. We have been once and enjoyed it. They are only open breakfast and lunch but they are packed all the time. My favorites though are Waffle House on 44 near I75 as I like the cheesy scrambled eggs and the crisp bacon, and Perkins, who let me substitute the potatoes for a cinnamon roll. We have them heat the cinnamon roll and bring forks for sharing. I love their chicken biscuit breakfast.

I like the One Egg Benedict at Perkins off the senior menu. One basted egg cooked to order, with Canadian bacon, smothered in a rich hollandaise sauce. Served on half a grilled English muffin with fruit or Mammoth Muffin and choice of hash browns or breakfast potatoes.

Not too heavy and priced right.

We went to First Watch for breakfast this morning. It was not really crowded, but no one came up to seat us, so we waited and waited. Finally, we decided to seat ourselves. We then waited for a menu or for someone to come to our table. No one came. One person was cleaning off a table and we tried to get her attention. After a few more minutes, we decided to leave. No one seemed to care. This was our first trip to First Watch and I realize this cannot be the norm. We went to Cracker Barrel and enjoyed a very nice breakfast with great service. We will probably try First Watch again, but we were impressed with Cracker Barrel.

We love, love, love them for breakfast. It's so nice to sit outside on a nice day and leisurely drink coffee, watch people and eat breakfast. All of the girls are so friendly they make you feel very welcome and are very eager to seat you wherever you want....inside or out. We try hard to patronize the smaller family owned restaurants instead of the chains. We do like Billie's too but if you want someplace to go by golf cart Athens NY is definitely my favorite!
PS...try the baklava pancakes or their frittata...awesome!

Love dear old Ohio based Bob Evans for the same reason. The servers at "ours" on 466 are mostly of our age and absolutely the best. They do breakfasts right and their house dressing on their salads is the best of the best, a sweet poppy seed. Yum.

My mother has always commented how great the muffins are at Perkins. So we tried the Perkins (CR466) yesterday. Breakfast was good but we were surprised that the restaurant smelled stale, like a dirty mop or maybe the carpet needed cleaning.

Bob's has been an Ohio staple for years and still is. Breakfasts are great and the same quality at any location you visit.

For years a group of 3 or 4 would meet for breakfast every Saturday morning. The servers got to know us and as soon as one showed up they would ask who was coming and bring our drinks. They even know how we wanted the eggs and made sure that they were prepared that way.

Gracie, there is one gal that works the breakfast shift and usually runs the register that is from your neck of the woods. I will get her name and where she is from in a couple of weeks. She has remembered me from one year to the next.

Lil Bits is a great family-owned restaurant in the Buffalo Ridge Plaza. That plaza is kinda behind the CVS on Route 466 or opposite Crispers.
It has breakfast and lunch Mon-Sat, as well as dinner with three choices on Friday nights. The food is home-made and the service is great.

Bonifay's daily breakfast & omelet bar is another nice treat in TV, especially if you're in the Southern end of TV. For $6.99, you've got a nice selection of breakfast foods, everything from hot oatmeal, creamy grits, French toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit and then there's the omelet bar if you're really hungry. Hope it lasts, it's a great deal. I think we paid more for breakfast at Perkins recently and it wasn't quite as good as Bonifay's.

Best around for us is Wolfys on 27 in Leesburg. Reasonable and great food! Perkins and First Watch are overpriced in my opinion though I like Perkins Bakery. I do not like First Watch at all. Cracker Barrel is ok but wish they had booths I find their chairs uncomfortable. Used to love The Village Eatery. by far the best value around town was so sad to see them close their doors after so many years :( Billys Cafe is good but something they cook with always gives me heatburn LOL Ricardos makes a great breakfast also in Belleview, they are new it used to be Jitters Cafe and before that Phils Pizza (which was the best around) straight down 441 on right side.

Myself and 14 others went to Bonifay for breakfast yesterday (Sat) and confirmed what I knew from my first visit there when they first opened. Not wanting to stand in a long omlet line I decieded on scrambled eggs at the buffet. They tasted like instant powdered eggs that you'd get in a cheap motel that advertises free breakfast. They were in a steam tray and were setting in an inch of water. The rest of the buffet was very small. Fruit was only strawberries and honeydew. No bread or biscuits or rolls, only french toast. The only good thing was the potatos and they were cold. Cost was $6.99 and they added $2.25 for coffee or tea. They are the only place for breakfast south of 466a. I'm hoping someone will open up that has menu, food quality and prices like Katy Bells and Athens. Several others in the group I was with agreed they won't be back.

Shimpy, There is never a good excuse for a disappointing experience. We were there one morning around 7:30 am and all of the trays were full, hot and fresh. We may have been the second couple to arrive. I wondered how they were able to keep that breakfast bar going for four hours, and now I know, they can't do it. What time were you there Shimpy?

Shrimpy, sorry to hear of your bad experience at Bonifay. I have been there several times for breakfast and have always had a good experience. Nice people, good food and good service. When at a buffet, I ALWAYS skip the precooked eggs. Never found any of them to be at all palatable. I wait in line for the omelet and enjoy it with the biscuits and fresh fruit.
