I've had differing opinions on this one, but are we allowed to remove the house numbers that are stuck on our window as long as we have some conspicuous house numbers somewhere else? Thanks.

We removed ours and put of a ceramic one that we bought from the craft fair. Looks much nicer!

WHAT EVER U DO leave some type of reflective numbers in the windows, that's the FIRST PLACE that the EMT'S & FIRE DEPT. LOOK AT!

For what it’s worth...in my CYV neighborhood, the removal of the reflective window stickers was done by the builder as the homes were sold, prior to the walk through. Of course in CYV neighborhoods many things are kept uniform, such as the permanent house numbers over the garage, which are placed there by the builder.

I have a cottage and there wasn't any numbers in my front window. Even if they were there you wouldn't be able to see them from the street. The lamppost numbers on the sign are for what??

It is my understanding so long as the address is displayed somehow on your property (words above the garage door, digits on your lamp post sign, etc.) you are in compliance with 911 emergency requirements.

I would be surprised if there were/are any laws, codes or even rules that require you to have a house number anywhere on your property. I would agree that it would be helpful for the pizza guy or EMT's coming for a visit, but LAW, I have my doubts.

You are correct and just as bright as your avatar suggests, and by the way welcome to this forum, Villages Geek.

BUT those numbers that aren't very pretty that the builder applies to your front window are reflective and so much easier for an EMS to see in the dark.

We took them off of our first home here in The Villages and left them on the second.
