I went up to Myrtle beach area and visit a high school friend who is football coach at Coastal Carolina. His name is Joe Moglia and is also the Chairman of Ameritrade. I switched over to Ameritrade and found I am a passive investor. Learned they have an institutional side where there are companies that for a reasonable fee handle everything...looking at all items of interest. Such as Wills, Trusts, insurance et al. I chose Creative Planning
I read up on Peter Mallouk of Creative Planning and found they were rated #1 investment firm for Baby Boomers.
Fortune, Money, Forbes all have Creative Planning rated in TOP 10. I could not be more pleased with the service. After speaking with Peter over the phone, he flew Brett Boyles in to visit me 4 days later. Brett spent 15 years with Fidelity in Fixed Income for high net worth individuals. Accounts are normally 500k and up. Fees are low and service is good. Check out Peter Mallouk of Creative Planning on youtube to get an ides for yourself.
Previously I had been with Morgan Stanley...higher fees, higher costs for mutual funds, service not as complete.
