The part costs $9 at Ace Hardware. One of their clerks will be glad to tell you step by step how to do the replacing - or, chances are, will do it for you for $15-$25 after work.

After 7 years the light sensor went on our lamp post sensor. The light stayed on and on and on. Our solution was to buy a bulb socket at Walmarts with a built in sensor for $10,00. Installation was $ 0 and took less than 30 seconds. works fine now,
I got the idea from a TOTV posting from 2007.

I too installed one myself. $0 labor works for me!!!
