I apologize in advance for asking this as I am sure it has been answered somewhere.

Are there certain homes and/or sections that allow fences in the back?
Have a small mutt who loves to be outside.

The quick answer is yes. CYV all have fences/walls in their back yard. In addition, there are some ranch homes that were built with fences in the back yard. Village of Hemingway for one place. I have not observed any new homes south of 466A other than Court Yard Villas with fences.

What about patio villas? Haven't seen any in Bokeelia Villas.

Fences are not allowed in patio villas except the one in the front put there by the developer.

Should be something about fences in the deed restrictions for where the home is located:

Download your deed restrictions (http://www.districtgov.org/departments/community-standards/download.aspx)

I have seen some very intresting ways to put a fence so the pets can roam in the grass.... here are a few I have seen.... there was a post on TOTV of a guy who built a pet size addition to his screen in the back, he put in a pet door so the dog can go in & out....another thing I saw is, a home owner planted small bushes at the side of their home to camouflage a chicken wire fence they put up so the dog can run in the yard!:coolsmiley:

I bet that the chicken wire fence looks like crap................
Why do some people always think that rules do not apply to them?
Cool....I think not.

There is even something in the restrictions about hedges being forbidden. Though you will see them here and there. It's always best to check with the "powers that be" before embarking on any kind of additions to property here! Just saying......

You can not even see the chicken wire, they meshed it into the bushes!

Also check on height requirements of fences or hedges for the areas that allow same. Depends on size of dog as to what you will need.

fences are not allowed, although some folks have installed invisible fences to keep their pets on their own property. there is one street, nash loop, in hemingway, that is the only street in the villages that have fences in many of the backyards. i think that this was some sort of experiment about 4 years ago, and has not been repeated since. a shame really as it makes for some great privacy. maybe these homes are appreciating faster than others in the villages because of this amenity?
