Have to pick up some friends next Wednesday at the Sanford Airport. After looking at the map I can see several possibilities. Anyone have a favorite route?
Pick up time is 3:50 PM. Not good but will have to deal with it.

Went to Sanford to see mom in assisted living many times. The only route we ever found was 441/27 thru Leesburg than 441 to 46. It's not the best, but it's the only option we ever found.

This route is torture anytime except late at night. Much faster and less traffic going east to Eustis, then Rt 44, 46 and 417 to the airport.
Since Im north in TV, I take Rt 42 east to 19 south to Eustis. Google it from there to the airport because there are a couple of tricky turns near Sanford.
I originally thought pick up of guests from Sanford would be easier than 'hectic'
Orlando or Tampa. Not true. Any trip to Sanford is just plain longer.

I would also take 42 east. But then turn right onto CR-452 east to 44. Comes out by the Lake County Fair Grounds.. Turn left at the red lite by the fair grounds. cross over 19. Folllow 44a and turn right on CR-439. Then turn left on 44. Turn right on 466a to the end. Turn left and that is 46. Much faster than taking 42 all way to 19.
I use Gary's route whenever I head to Mt. Dora and beyond. Much more scenic and I'll do anything to avoid the congestion and traffic lights through Leesburg.

Yep. Have taken that route and it is better than straight 42/19.
