We are moving to TV next month for good. I have gone to the folk music performance a number of times and enjoyed it. I would love to join it and can play the guitar but am weak in theory. I don't know how to change from one key to another on the fly. Any ideas? Anybody got a cheat-sheet or able to help me out on this?

You don't need a whole lot of theory to have fun with a guitar. In order to join in, get yourself a capo, a kind of clamp that goes across the the strings and try this website. I think you'll like it.

You'll have to copy the website and paste it in your browser but it should get you going. Don't be afraid to ask more experienced players for help. They're usually happy to anwer your questions.

A capo is a great - quick tool. Still, the grail is to understand and memorize the circle of fifths. With a few weeks work - amaze your friends! Astonish better guitarists! Be a better lover and give that guy from the beer commercials a run for his cerveza!
