Went to Dr. Davis seminar on disk decompression therapy and DW wanted to know if anyone had been through his program and had success. She has a herniated disk and is considering trying his program.

It is interesting that you ask this as I have just been through some therapy because of a neck injury and the place I go to in Seattle offers that. With my short time line before leaving I did not do that but I did find Dr. Davis's name as someone who has the same type clinic as the one here in Seattle and I believe trained with Dr. Bush who is well known in the decompression field and also was the one my doctor trained with. There are many testomonies to this here in Seattle, one being a client of my husbands. I am always dubious and would be interested in hearing as well from others. It is a private pay treatment and I think you need a large series of them and I think they are costly, but possibly effective

There's a thread somewhere in the archives re: Dr. Davis. Not sure how to resurrect it...but it's worth viewing it.

Compare dr Davis to dr Valencia...a neurologist just outside the village. From what I understand dr Davis,s proceSs will cost you close to 5,000 whereas 20 sessions with Valencia will be between $800 - $1200 for 20 sessions. I did Valencia and had some success. I started with a local chiropractor and I can tell you from first hand experience that Valencia method of decompression was far superior. I have not tried dr Davis.

I went to Dr. Davis for a neck problem. Just about all of the cost was directly out of pocket. My insurance carriers paid next to nothing. As far as success, I did have a little, very little improvement but it certainly wasn't worth the expense. I would look elsewhere.

I had went to my chiropractor in Missouri about four times a year. It was usually associated with sitting at the computer a majority of the day at work and getting knots in my neck. I also had a place in the middle of my back that liked to slip out. Dr. Davis was on my chiropractor lists for possible contact in The Villages.
After retiring in June of 2010, we loaded up our stuff and moved to Hemingway. Discovered house didn't fit our needs and bought a house in Bonita. Needless to say my back was needing help.
Went to Dr. Davis in January for a manipulation. He insisted on X-Rays, which I could understand. I also had my left hand thumb, pointy finger and middle finger going numb.
I was assigned to the decompression machine. $4,200. Insurance paid nothing for it. I took out a Care Credit loan.
Did it help? It did somewhat for the numbness in my fingers. But that has come back now. I never did get the spinal manipulation. So when I go back to Missouri to visit, I contact my chiropractor and get a session in. I have tried to talk him into moving to The Villages as he loves to golf. But so far, I haven't gotten the job done.

My experience with Dr. Davis.....When we came down here for our LifeStyles stay I got off the plane in severe pain. My neck/shoulders/arm and hand were going through excruciating pain. Looked the next day (after a nearly sleepless night) for a chiropractor. Saw his ad so went in. Had to have x-rays, a consultation with him THEN the itenerary for the week we'd be here. Our ins. at the time didn't cover this so we used our credit card. The treatment "somewhat" helped. Fast-forward 3 years to a doctor's diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. What I was dealing with was a HUGE flare. If any of you are familiar with RA you know this isn't any small deal. I don't expect a chiropractor to diagnose such a disease. I also might say....after my week with him I wasn't impressed. Kind of slick!

When a chiropractor has to advertise as much as Dr. Davis, they are usually not worth their salt....My husband is a retired Chiropractor from North Carolina and his practice was established from good old "word of mouth"....Too bad he is retired because he was the BEST(He had the largest single Dr. practice in NC)....Can you tell that I'm his biggest fan!....My husband goes to Dr. Boyles if this helps....Also if you have to see a chiropractor for more than 3 times you are in the wrong office!

I went to a neurologist who does disc decompression a few years ago. My insurance paid for all of it. I had 20 treatments. Unfortunately it was discovered that I had 3 bulging discs and the treatment did not help me and I eventually had two surgeries to correct my problem. I think they said it helps alot of people but not all.
