Hi Michiganders, we will also be in 206, not far from you. We will also start building in the spring-seems like an eternity.

Being from Michigan, are either of you college football fans? If so, which team? Our daughter's best friend graduated Michigan and we've also followed the Spartans. It's our passion during the fall, and what's helping us get through the wait till be get to TV.

There's about 90 of us from Gilchrist, Fernandina, Charlotte, and Sanibel who are on a listing (they call it A-4's Spreadsheet) so everyone can start to meet their new neighbors. Since most of us aren't quite there yet, it's been nice to make friends before we ever meet face to face. And the people who are there and waiting on the rest of us to show up have been really good about keeping us informed as to what's going on and have been sending pictures or posting pictures on TOTV. If you or anyone else in these 4 villages want to get on the list and see who your new neighbors are, send me a Private Message (PM) and I'll send you instructions for getting on the list. Everytime I add someone to the list I send it back out to everyone on it.

The only planned event coming out of the Spreadsheet is sometime early next year, after we get more people down there, we'll send an email to everyone on the Spreadsheet with a date and time to all meet at Bradenton Rec Center in their golf cart. From there we will caravan to Brownwood and take over the square for a night of music, dancing, and beverages.

We came down in March just to "check it out" based on a friend telling us how great it was. We came home proud owners of a beautiful San Dollar Cottage in Sanibel on Fewwick Loop. Then 2 trips to close the deal and furnish the house. When we came back for 2 weeks over the 4th of July we were enjoying the music one night at Market Square and my wife and I decided we couldn't wait any longer and part timing wouldn't work. So, the next day we called our sales rep and started looking for a lot for a designer. Thus Fernandina 206 lot 142. Then it was back to TN to put the house up for sale. Nibbles and a lot of interest, but no offers yet. I can handle 2 houses but not 3 so we won't start building until TN sells. The anticipation of getting there and watching the build is killing us. If you have any northern friends who are too scared to make the move all the way to The Villages tell them I have a wonderful home in TN I'll give them a GREAT deal on:icon_wink:

How exciting for you, glad you posted, wondering how it was going, miss seeing all the pictures. We will be closing on 11/27 and hope to move in on the first week of Dec, we are on Hollyhock Way with a Lilac too. :a040: Can't wait to join the villages too.

Best of luck in your new home. My wife and I purchased a lot in Fernandina 205 but have yet to sign the final contract. We are arriving in TV on November 10th to start the process.
