My ceilings are 10 feet high and I am looking for window drapes that will go from ceiling to floor. I headed over to BB&B. The store does not carry drapes this long - so I special ordered a pair. The lady assisting my purchase was very informative with the exception of telling me there was a $10 plus shipping charge. So they don't carry the size I need and I pay for them to be shipped. Something wrong with that picture. I had to return them (too short) and found my refund was less than my charge. That is when I found out about the fee to ship. What a waste....

I believe that is fairly common with most companies. And if your shipping charge was about ten bucks, it's not so out of line. Whenever you special order something, you can expect a surcharge. However, the amount of coupons they send you should offset the extra!

Mine too! Never have had a problem with them. Shipping fees are charged by most companies and rarely refunded if merchandise is returned.

I also love Bed Bath and Beyond. I think some stores charge the shipping and others don't. You could try buying the drapes on line. They carry many sizes at Kohls, JC Penney. You can usually get free shipping and if it doesn't work out, you can take it back to the store in person to avoid a return charge.

So....I should "BEWARE" of Best Buy because you don't bother to look at your sales receipt when you make a purchase.
Sorry, but I think you are in the wrong on this one.

:agree: Special shipping charges are rarely refunded. Not unusual at all.

Practices must have changed. I know there was a time if they didn't have it and ordered from the store they would wave shipping. Guess not anymore. We had to take some things back and lost that shipping as well. Not doing that again :( Normally only order from stores we can get free shipping from using codes.

if you ship to the store they usually don't charge shipping but to the house the shipping charge applies

Ten bucks is cheap...........have you tried shipping anything that would weigh as much as drapes?

you definitely are in the wrong here. it is not uncommon to pay shipping charges for items that are rarely carried in stores. the fact that you were able to return them in the store and not have to ship them back (where you would paythe shipping) is a plus for you. qwitcherbellyakin!
