We have our design meeting in Dec. and know we want tile throughout the home with bedroom exceptions. In our past homes, we have learned that builders' prices and selection sometimes are beat by outside contractors so we are thinking of getting some estimates. I am also afraid of color an grout choices being limited, as they all seemed alike in the models. Anyone with any suggestions or experience? We do not have to move in at closing, so would have a little time without furniture to move! Same question for plantation shutters.:jester:
As always - thanks

Contact the Floor Shoppe (located on 301 west of 466). The company is a TOTV advertiser. A number of friends and I used them the past few month - bathrooms, enclosed lanai floors and backsplashes. Excellent pricing, great service and installers. If you have any questions - PM me.

We just had our living and dining room tiled by the same company that originally tiled it. They did a great job at a reasonable price

We also had tile installed in living, dining areas, as well as the 2 hallways leading to guest bedrooms & our bedroom/laundry room.
During our walkthru, we asked the builder where the tile came from & told him what we wanted to do. He told us it was Nickel Tile...and then said it was a big savings doing it ourselves...if he, the builder, had tiled the entire area, our purchase price would have been much higher.
I believe it was 3300 for the entire job. Best investment we ever made! We have a Jasmine, & having the tile thruout the house makes it look so much bigger.
Also, Nickel Tile saved our removed carpet to donate to charity.

I could be wrong but it used to be that you had to have some flooring in at closing. we love our 18" square tile and the neutral grout.

I think you are correct, just like the microwave/exhaust.

Yes, I believe the flooring must be in for closing. You would need to check with your agent or design team.

Yes, to get a co you have to have flooring, but it can be the lowest grade available! I just wish we knew more about the mystery options with the design team ... After 9 homes and years in real estate, I have way too many questions! Our poor rep ........

Mystery options? Just ask and they will let you know! I got a tile I can live with for a few years, then will switch. But I have wood flooring in the living areas. However, they refused to put it in the kitchen.. So tile there, the bathrooms, laundry, and entries... Eventually it will be perfect!!

We go to design next month. I'd like to put in minimum flooring from tv. Them do entire house except master bedroom. Did you go to nickel tile to do it after market or someone else? Do you remember what they charged per sq ft for the installation. I know the other costs depends on the tile chosen
We got a price from east coast flooring and it seemed very high
Thank you

Hi
We have our design meeting next month and have same questions. Please let us know what you find out?
Btw, we already contacted Rick at 48 hours and he's half the price for blinds, not sure about shutter, but we plan to use him
