I see that starting on Monday Nov 12 TV will be having food trucks at Brownwood Paddock Square from 4 PM to 8 PM. They are again schedules for Monday Nov 26 at the same time.
I am not sure if this is be a just on a trial basis or if it will be a regular thing on the second and forth Monday of the month.
Also noted was Sadie Hawkins Day on Nov 15 which would be rather interesting.

What do you mean by food trucks?
Food trucks are converted trucks that usually offer hot food cooked when you order it. Different trucks offer different types of food and some are strickly pastry trucks that offer fresh pre baked cupcakes, cakes or other pastries like a moble bakery http://nymag.com/restaurants/cheapeats/2010/67139/

From what I saw on facebook...pass...they will probably do this until they get more established eateries down there. Since really the only place is City Fire right?

Has anyone watched the great food truck race on the food network? I hope that they do an episode here. You will change your mind about food trucks if you watch this program. Everything is fresh and the food looks good..

This is a genius idea ............... could be the food off these 'trucks' will be better than the food in our established restaurants - it will certainly bring people to Brownwood.
Living in Europe you become used to buying food from street vendors ......... most of it is excellent, the bad ones don't stay in business!

What a great idea since restaurants won't be opened for sometime in Brownwood. Loved the vendors in Manhanttan. Washington DC has quite a few now and the varieties of food are great. When I was based in Singapore, they had hawkers area where I was able to find good food at dirt cheap prices. Since it's Brownwood, maybe be they'll be selling from covered wagons.:)

I have relatives working in Singapore for Barclays Bank and they eat every night from the street vendors or the markets. They tell us it is cheaper and better than buying and cooking food at home.

Madeline. You are absolutely right. Singaporean women don't cook much so if you don't like cooking, go to Singapore.

City Fire isn't open yet, last time I was there they were serving out of a trailer, off to one side of the square.

...having food trucks visit sounds like a v ery creative way to solve the problem to me. I hadn't heard about the plan. I tjink I'll give it a try on some of the scheduled nights.
Sooner or later, there probably will be enough restaurant choices in Brownwood and the "truck plan" will fade. But for now, it sounds like a good idea to me.

If you are in an area of new construction, try one of the food trucks that stop to feed the workers.
Once had a great breakfast burrito..........that was authentic!
