I am at a loss for words. Yesterday, while looking out my
Lanai onto the golf course, what do you think I saw??? A golfer, on our side of the pompous grass, urinating. Yup, you heard it right. He was just on the other side of our property relieving himself. My jaw dropped. I yelled to my husband and he couldn't believe it. I ran outback ( by that time he was back on the tee) and yelled " excuse me, but you can't do that. The bathroom is right there". He yelled back "forget about it". I said "that's disgusting and if you can't use the rest room you shouldn't be on the golf course". He just walked away. I reported him to the manager of the country club. They said they would look out for him when he comes back and speak to him. He should be barred from playing for a while. Has anyone else witnessed this kind of behavior??

You can ignore reality and have it work against you or you can embrace it and have it work for you.
I am not surprised of anything that happens here. However you have some residents that have gulped so much of the kool-aid that they actually believe this development is a mystic land where only good things happen. I feel very badly for them because when a crime occurs, an accident, a dump stunt, a rude person, an illness , etc they seem unprepared and find it inconceivable.
Factually you have roughly 100,00 people from around the world living in a very tight space and coming together on a daily basis. So the "Friendliest Hometown in Florida" motto is just a myth, get over it. If you have been paying attention even Disneyworld has many disastrous and scandalous events

Just a couple of quick questions on golf etiquette...
1. ;) Should one remove their golf glove first?
2. :yuck: If you witness a member of your group do this, is it okay to not shake hands after the round?

Answer
1) A right handed golfer wears his glove on his left hand leaving his right hand free for other things.
2) Instead of shaking hands a fist bump would be appropriate in this case.

One of my golf partners would say "I have to call my broker" and heads for the trees. Guess we can do this up north because trees are more mature up there? These days more houses are built around the golf courses. I could be wrong but I noticed less golfers going to the trees at a private club than at public courses. Wonder if golfers call on brokers at Augusta.

It probably embarassed the heck out of him when he realized you saw him. I wouldn't worry about it, as others have said, dogs pee outside as do squirrels, rabbits, racoons, possum, feral cats, chipmunks, skunks, etc..

For what it's worth, original poster, the golfer broke the law. Public urination is illegal. To do it on your private property is trespassing, indecent exposure and illegal public urination.
The majority of the replies on here are in jest, but in reality, you have a perfectly valid complaint. How disheartening to find a man relieving himself in your backyard.
You did the right thing in calling the Clubhouse. You might want to, if its on your property, cut down the pompous grass so " the lizards no longer have a place to hide".
If its more than a one time occurrence ( e.g. If your home is just far enough from the tiki bar and the men's room), you should take it up, personally, with the Clubhouse manager in his office.
The off-hand disrespectful remark from the offender to you, I'm sure, is equally as hurtful as his disrespect for you're property.
Perhaps fellow TVers have other ideas about preventing this in the future for you. It might help to know where your home is located relative to the greens, etc. in brainstorming this for you.

Absolutely, after I stopped laughing over the comments, I realized that I never emphathized with the poster. I'd be pi**ed too. (perhaps the wrong choice of words). This behavior might be more common than non-golfers realize, but should not be tolerated in a community where homes surround the courses.

You can't win a ****ing contest.
It may be why people move onto a golf course lot and move off of a golf course lot.
We have lived on golf courses for 40 years and nothing surprises me. HOWEVER it was ONE golf course. You would know if it was a member or not.
Of all of the things that can happen in life, I would classify this as annoying rather than AWFUL.
We should have shown more compassion to Happinow.
It is Pompous if you are from Boston, Patty.
It takes all kinds to make a world and it is probably better to laugh than to cry.
It depends on your value system and your sense of humor as to how you view this.
