Leased our house to an Amazon Executive today through an Amazon Relocator Service who contacted us. Lovely family! Movers come Saturday morning to get our belongings and we will be permanantly home about 10 days later in The Villages, after our drive across country with the English and Irish Setters. Starting out driving to Utah to Zion Park and going deep South after that. One year ago we bought our villa at the Haciendas of Mission Hills.

Congratulations! But if you are going to be going to Zion, do not miss the opportunity to see Bryce Canyon as well. (We were just there in June) They are both spectacular and only a couple of hours drive apart. In Zion if you are feeling adventurous, walk the narrows. It is very cool.

We recently were on I-40 in Arizona and New Mexico; beautiful drive but mostly near 7,000 Ft Elev.

Driving in November you are better to head to I-10 directly from Lost Wages via US 95. Don't be surprised by the Border Patrol stop with drug sniffing dogs on I-10 about 50 miles East of El Paso.

Your timing is great. I was in Seattle last week and it was cold and rainy -- it felt like winter was already there. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time in TV.

Safe travels.

If your route takes you close to Moab Utah don't hesitate to stay there and definitely visit Arches National Park. If you have time, also visit Canyonlands NP, as well. But if you only have time for one, Arches is not to be missed. It's well worth taking an extra day. And there is an Italian and a Mexican restaurant in Moab that are absolutely two of the best I've ever visited. And the Moab Diner for breakfast is a near national treasure. Try their green chili sauce on your breakfast omelet.

Here's what you might see in Arches...

350 miles from Zion to Moab and another 350 to get back to I-15 to get to Lost Wages and on to I-10. Lotza miles driving out West.

A bit more than taking the CTA to the loop and back to 85th St.

BUT, yur right, Arches and Moab are not to be missed - during the warmer months of the year.

Thank you everyone for all your well wishes, kindness, and exceptional recommendations. We would love to do it all. Our restriction is we must beat the movers to The Villages. they are trying to give us a few extra days, will know once the main driver arrives Saturday morning to load up our stuff (which by the way after garage sales, major sales and downsizing is still way too much). But if we are lucky, we will have 10-12 days maximum and we are travelling with two dogs who will need outings. There are so many wonderful ideas to choose from, we will let you know what we are able to experience. But your warmth and good thoughts are so meaningful to us. We look forward to being settled and meeting all you wonderful people, and reconnecting with those we have already had the good fortune to know.
