That really is a good answer. We are in the same position and there is absolutely NOTHING I want or need. Don't wear the bling I have, so no more of that please. I really don't need anything but to be taken out for a really good dinner and his company.
Oh, almost forgot, he'd better get me a wonderful card with wonderful words telling me I am the light of his life!

A weekend away at a nice resort during her favorite season of the year.
You can make a reservation and they will do the "presentation" envelope which you can wrap up in several boxes that she has to keep opening till she gets down to the reservation........some of these nicer places have spas , so you could add the "spa package".
This is what's great for the woman who has everything and does not need any more clutter at the house.
Plus, it's something to look forward to. I also purchase and plan a similar gift for my husband's b.day.......he will never do the spa thing though.....but it is nice to have a future getaway lined up.
Believe me, it will be appreciated. There must be some place within driveable distance that she enjoys going to.......for a long weekend.
Best wishes......

:agree: The best gift we ever gave each other was our home here in TV. It is my birthday everyday!

This is a wonderful suggestion. My husband and I have been doing it for years. No presents..just plan a little get-away.

Gifts that leave a memory are usually much better than any bling. Tickets to a special event, concert; weekend trip; staying home and doing everything for her for one day. Just let her know you still think she is the most beautiful, wonderful woman alive. She'll be on cloud nine for a long, long time.

Then you should know what she likes better than anyone. Do something unexpected for her. Do one of the things that she normally does and doesn't really like to do, landry or cleaning or whatever. Then suprise her with someting she really likes for example a spa day or a round of golf or whatever it is she really likes.

We don't do gifts much anymore between the two of us. Sweetie came in very unexpectedly a couple of months ago with pairs of tickets for the two of us to a number of performances around The Villages. He isn't a Mozart kind of guy but he bought these tickets for me, who would never have dragged him to hear Mozart.
Kind of a "Gift of the Magi".
I sure lucked out when I captured that guy 50 years ago.

I told my wife she was getting something that went from 0 to 200 in under 2 seconds. She asked if it was a red sports car. I told her no, it was a new bathroom scale.......>Only kidding here:laugh::a20::bowdown:

How about professional ballroom dance lessons for the two of you! My hubby did this for me 12 years ago and we are still dancing at least twice a week. Best birthday present I ever got

That's a good idea...or lessons for anything she's interested in like golf, art, you name it. Or, is she a reader? How about an ereader like a Nook or Kindle? of one of the new ipad mini's?
One of the most "precious" gifts I have ever received from him was sort of a poem/letter that he wrote about our life together. He wrote about many of the things we have accomplished together and how we have "grown together" in the many ways over these years. He described (in detail) what makes US so good. The look on my face when I see him, the little habits and things that I do that makes him happy, just really emotional stuff thats easier to write than say. I can read that little note any time I want - it sparkles in my mind just as brightly as any "bling" and calms and relaxes me anytime just as good as being at a "spa". It doesn't cost much to put a note/letter together from the heart.......and yet it is priceless.

That is one great thing to do. Actually, I did that for my wife and combined the poem with a Caribbean cruise. We both had a great time.

I would do something that is memorable for her. Something that you would have to make an effort to do and would be pleasurable to her alone.
The memory will be everlasting.

You definitely made a good choice in a mate. He sounds like a "keeper".
It's not the material possessions at all........they can be lost in an instant.
It's the thoughts and memories such as you describe above that are priceless and precious.
So, listen up men.......no last minute "bling" or gift will ever compare to simple thoughts which are heartfelt.

I always take my bride of 47 years to Maceys for her birthday, but I pick out the nicest clothes. She just loves trying them on and I love picking them out. We have had fun doing this for 47 years and we enjoy a fun day shopping.
Money well spent and she looks great!

Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!! Get on it! Happened to me, and I loved it. And if you present the gift in advance, your wife can help in the planning, or else be prepared clothing-wise, etc.
On our 30th wedding anniversary, my husband took me out to dinner and presented me with a tour brochure itinerary to a place I didn't even know he knew i wanted to go to. (We were sharing a computer, and he noticed all the bookmarks about this place.) The deal was we wouldn't do the tour group thing, but the brochure was to indicate where the trip would be, and I got to plan it.
What a surprise. And I'll never forget that trip.
