Does anyone have any experience with putting together a shadow box? Would like to put a sports jersey on display for someone in a shadow box...any group in TV that does this or maybe an individual...
Thanks in advance.

Both Joann's Fabrics and Michaels will do it for you.

David, yes you can certainly have a jersey professionally framed at Michaels or JoAnnes and they look very nice. However, 6 years ago my son was a senior on the varsity hockey team. We moms decided we wanted to do shadow boxes for each senior. We ordered very large shadow boxes from Michaels. They came with a velvet like lining. We folded the jerseys to display their names and number from the sleeve, applied with stick pins. We then also included things like first puck scored, programs, ticket stubs, rooster, medals, awards, newspaper articles, etc. These items were applied with a glue gun. It became so popular, it has become a tradition every year since and the were made by their moms with love. I am proud to say after 6 years of college and a relocation for our son from upstate New York to Denver, Co. This was one of the first things my son packed and is displayed in his new apartment. I am sure you have some crafty moms or dads in your school that would be willing to do this. Best of luck.

You're a great Hockey Mom! I wish I had taken the time and effort to do this for my son. I know it would have been very much appreciated. Maybe after I retire in TV (next week!!!!) I'll get around to doing this for him (if and when I find the stuff). Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the compliment, somehow I think I found more time to do these things before I retired because now I say " there is always tomorrow". I was much more organized then. If I can find an electronic picture I will post.
