If you can donate blood, please think about doing so. There is always a critical need, but with the recent weather events it is even more so. Many normal blood drives have been cancelled in the storm affected areas, as people struggle to just survive.
We are so lucky to be living here safe in houses, with plenty of food and water, not too cold or hot. You may save someone's life.

Lets see how many will donate. I will. Lasr week someone posted on giving blood, and everyone was patting themselves on the back because,"they donated so much". Like to see the real response to this.

There is a Florida Blood Center branch in the Villages near the Hospital. It is in the Spanish Plaines shopping center where Blockbusters used to be and where Whole Earth Pet Supply and First Watch are.

I have probably donated whole blood, platelets, or plasma at this Branch location (or where they used to be near by) about two dozen times over the past 4 years or so. For the most part, very nice competent people.

There's going to be a blood drive on Monday at Publix (Southern Trace) 11-3pm
There are other dates scheduled for Publix on Colony Blvd and Walgreens at Mulberry Grove. There's one on Rolling Acres Road coming up also.
And of course, the Bella Cruz branch, as Tartalzac mentioned, is readily available.

They also seem to often be in need of plasma and platelets. It usualy takes longer than giving whole blood but they do have a small DVD library with some good choices of movies. I have watched parts of various movies while donating platelets at the Florida Blood Center branch location.
