I keep hearing on the villages radio, that the par car can get 80 miles on one charge. Is this true? And, if so what are they doing to their carts? I was looking online for info and went to Columbia par car website, and it is saying it is getting 40 miles to a charge? Are they selling the same carts that are on the website, or do they customize them?

I went to the par car web sight for leesburg and it advertises up to 80 miles per charge....I have a par car and it goes forever on a charge....The difference is the batteries....They are expensive but they go and go and go....For example....We went to Katie Bells for breakfast which is in Spanish Springs , then to Southern Trace Shopping then to Brownwood for a movie then back to Caroline where we live then out for 9 holes of golf then LSL for dancing and when we got home that night to plug in for a charge we had 1/2 of the charge left....How many miles that is I don't know but it goes along way on a charge.:crap2:

They ran a promotion here a while back and raised some money for cancer research. They drove a cart non-stop from point A to point B and they got slightly over 80 miles.
BUT... the cart they used was perfectly set up. It was brand new with brand new batteries which were completely charged. I understand it was charged more than the full charge you would get from a standard charger. They had an expert driver drive in a certain way and the whole thing was done to show that it COULD be done. You won't get 80 miles per charge on a regular basis.
The cart was given away to a lucky person who guessed the exact number of miles it would go, but the batteries were replaced because this test destroyed them.
I had seen the ads when I first got here and was ready to buy a Par Car until I checked around and heard a lot of negative stuff. I can't speak from experience, but I know a lot of people who don't like them.
Their advertising claim of 80 miles in a single charge, while not untrue, is very deceptive.

I have a Par Car street legal that is about 2 1/2 yrs old I have already had batteries replaced 1 time under warranty and now after a year i can notice a difference in range... I can probaly get 30/35 miles before i notice a lagging...I use my cart every day for all travel, if I ran on the cart paths I could probably get in the 45/50 mile range easy ....again I'm street legal and usually run wide open at 28 mph so that is probably a big difference in battery usage.
