Don't want to tell you what to do, but have you considered a rescue dog? You would never be sorry. Just sayin......

There are Golden rescue groups in Tampa and Orlando. Try to google golden rescue FL, and I'm sure a number of contacts will come up. I used to have a Golden and it was one of the sweetest and smartest dogs ever! Good luck.

I third that - all of my dogs have been rescues. Paying money for a dog doesn't make them a better pet, all it takes is love.

I tenth the response...go the rescue route. Save a doggy and donate the money you would have paid for one to the rescue society. You will get a wonderful companion and help out the breed.

Saw something yesterday...very disturbing (at least to me). We went to the flea market 441/27. They had quite a few puppies for sale in cages. I believe that one was a golden. A few poodle pups, and others. It looked rather shabby to me and I felt bad for the pups. When leaving, we saw a few more venders outside the grounds selling puppies...didn't look, cause it's disturbing to see them. I know that dogs are sold this way all over the country, but it bothers me...anyway, you might find a golden there.

It is very disturbing to see puppies and kittens sold at flea markets especially when they have no room to move about and are e..maciated. Glad it's illegal here in Massachusetts.

My educated guess is these dogs at the flea (no pun intended) market are breed at puppy mills. Meaning ... inter-breeding just to make a buck. No consideration for temperment, health issues, no socialization what-so-ever. I'm sure we all realize (or not) when you bring a dog home, hopefully you will be living with and loving that animal for many years to come. Just make a wise decision with your purchase.
