Has anyone taken their dog to Buffalo Rodge Animal Hospital for grooming? I heard Dan does a great job but want other opinions? Does anyone use a mobile groomer who comes to their home in The Villages? Thanks for your help

Take my Border Collie/Collie mix there about every 3-4 months. Very Good and we have tried several other places before settling there

i think dan is a very nice guy...and very expensive. not everyone is a rich villager. all we wanted was for our sheltie to have her pads shaved and nails clipped. he would not do it after a while..said it must be a full grooming..we were rather put out by that..but he has a nice way with animals and i think he does a nice grooming job for people. i will never use him for grooming because its an either or situation with him.....you have to pay for a GROOMING, and anything less than that..he wont go there which was a shame. we now go to mary at petco..who charges $10 for the same situation God bless her.really nice lady.

We go to Dan. Same price as elsewhere in Villages, but he does a great job, is kind to our dog, and doesn't keep her in a cage all day waiting her turn. Gets her in and out. Thumbs up for sure!

I use Lady Lake Professional Grooming on 441 in Fruitland Park. Have been going there 6 years. Jackie is great with my Shih Szu...one and a half hours in and out...very reasonable.

We use Dan for our grooming and like him a lot. He just groomed our wheaten on Wednesday - she was in and out in under 3 hours! While we don't ask for fancy grooming, she looks fabulous each time. He's kind and gentle with her and truly knows how to groom her face. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I used Dan only once at Buffalo Ridge and did NOT have a good experience. I have a Goldendoodle which was due in at 12:00pm for his appt. When I arrived, Dan was very nice and took him back to his room. About 45 minutes later, after I had left, I got a call from him and he seemed like he was in a tissy, saying they over-booked him and that my dog wouldn't be done until much later and he would call me when he was finished. At 5:45pm, I started driving there since I hadn't heard from Dan since his call at 12:45pm. As I was approaching Buffalo Ridge, I got a call on my cell from the receptionist asking when I was coming to pick up my dog. When I arrived, he was back in Dan's room, in the dark, by himself, not crated, which caused concern for what he could have gotten into. I told the receptionist I had never received a call from Dan and since I knew they were a 24 hours emergency vet, assumed someone was there all the time. Actually, they close at 6:00pm which I didn't know and no one ever told me.
His prices were, in my opinion, quite reasonable, as he charged $55.00 for a full groom, however, once I brought my dog home and looked him over, it was the worst job he had ever had. His coat was uneven, never cleaned out around his private parts and was not done as I had requested. I will also add, we bathe our dog about every two weeks and rake his coat out so he get no mats. I did place a call the next day to Buffalo Ridge informing them of my disappointment and although they did ask if I wanted Dan to re-do him, I said no.
I now go to Bone Crazy on 466A and although I do pay a substantial amount more ($85.00), they are well worth it.
Just my experience ...

I tried several area groomers before I found Lady Lake Professional Groomers. Jackie is fantastic with all the dogs and is always prompt, courteous, and we were always thrilled with the great job she did. Our Molly passed last year but when we get a new dog Jackie will be her groomer for sure. And.....prices are not the outrageous prices charged by others in the area. I would gladly pay extra for a great job but it's not necessary at LLPG.

Love Dan! He is about $25 cheaper than PetSmart and equally as good in my opinion.

We have two toy poodles who have special cuts. Other groomers can clip them.... But none have been able to do a quality cut like Michele. My boys LOVE her. She comes to your home with a filly contained vehicle. Give her a try.

no one is disparaging dan in the villages as a groomer. i made a distinction that dan does not cut the nails or do the pads of pets UNLESS you go into him for a FULL grooming..which is very expensive indeed. now i will reiterate this one more time..and if you dont believe me ...just kindly call up buffalo ridge grooming and speak to dan. ask him if he does JUST naiil trimmings..he does not. it has to be an entire package. and my point was and i do wish(exasparation here lol guys) people would put their READING GLASSES ON...my point was...that petco..does do just nail trimming..without REQUIRING A FULL GROOMING FEE..as dan does. i hope i was communicative..i hope anyone that needs just their pets nails trimmed and doesnt want to be forced into paying the full price of a full grooming if its not necessary for their pet...will understand this. for the rest...i give up lol honestly.
petco-mary- nail trimming without charging for a full grooming fee. dan ..great groomer...but will not do anything but a full grooming which is of course the full fee. one is about 45$ and the other (at petco for the nails is $10) over and out.
