I recently purchased a Kindle Fire HD device. My sister gave me a certificate for the ebook.com site. Most of the books are either EPUB or secure PDF. From what I read Kindle is restricted to certain book formats. But according to Google it can be done.

Has anyone done it? Is it easy to download and read these formats on the Kindle? What I read does not sound too easy as they want you to download an Aldiko book reader which requires some finagling of the Kindle system.

Anyone give me any help of advise? I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Z

If you have an amazon.com account, type in the search bar free kindle books. Lots of free ones on there.

There is a free program that will convert epub to mobi files as well as other formats. Kindles need mobi files. The program is called calibre and you can get it at calibre.com. You can also use that program to transfer books to your Kindle. Or you can also email books direct to your Kindle.

I love using Calibre, but it takes a little practice. My son helped me learn it when I first got a Kindle. PM me if you have any questions. I also agree that the free books available on the Amazon site are always worth a look - the list changes almost every day. Good Luck !!
