:smiley:We are in our home in Wisconsin and will be back to TV soon. We decided we could use a new dishwasher up here. Having things rated on-line is a mixed blessing. We bought our present dishwasher without any rating information, and it is still working 13 years later. However, that brand now has not been rated very highly. After several hours of looking on-line, I am more confused than when I started. Very few models of any brand get five stars. Even the ones that score better, have a low score and comments from a few people. I know this is the same with anything you look up for a rating. So, does anyone have any suggestions in a make and model that has been somewhat recently purchased and is a great choice? Thank you for any input!

Bosch dishwashers are rated highest in Consumer Reports this past year and in previous years.
We have a Bosch in our MI home. We've had this one for 6 years with no problems. It is much quieter than the GE that we have in The Villages. That one had a recall for the heating element. Based on Consumer Reports Reliability/repair-wise they are rated pretty high along with Whirlpool. Reliability was rated poor for Maytag and LG. See page 56-59 in the 2013 CR Buying guide or go online for more info.

I've been looking at dishwashers for our Michigan home. I say looking as Mom doesn't want to buy a new one until ours bites the dust. Personally, I think the dust is a lot closer than she would like to think!
I haven't looked at Consumer Reports but I did look at the reviews on Lowe's website. We live in a small town and Lowe's is our only close option. People liked Bosch and Whirlpool in the Lowe's reviews. The main complaint with the Bosch was that it didn't hold a lot. People said it might have been an energy saver but they had to do dishes more often so they didn't really think they were ahead of the game. Another complaint, was that most people didn't like the silverware tray on the door. If I remember right, this complaint was with both Bosch and Whirlpool. They said it was hard to get larger utensils out of the dishwasher because of the placement of the tray and the soap dispenser.
I haven't looked at the dishwashers in person but because of the interior size, I am leaning towards the Whirlpool.
I have a Whirlpool Gold in my TV home. I am renting my new TV home, so other than the walk through on closing day, I haven't really used it yet.
