We go to the Farmer's Market every Tuesday in Lady Lake and are always surprised by the few people that are there. The prices of the fresh fruit and vegetables are amazingly cheap, much less than the grocery stores. It is downtown lady lake at the park right on 441. I really like supporting our local farmers so I hope to see you all there!

Can you get there by golf cart? I love farmers' markets but will only have a golf cart for transportation.

That would be a no! However you can cart down to the one at Brownwood on Saturday mornings!

Thanks. I may try Brownwood then. I will be renting for the month of January and cannot wait. Perhaps a friend with a car will also be interested in the Tuesday farmers market in Lady Lake.

Where exactly on 441 is the park and downtown Lady Lake? We are snowbirds and can't wait for mid-Dec and our return!

Take CR466 to US 441 and turn right....the park is about two blocks south on the right.

We were at the farmers market in Brwonwood this past weekend and when it started. they seem to be doing better. We did notice though it is not quite like other markets and especially in the north. We used to go on weekends north often. Maybe it is the region but their prices appear high for a market in Brownwood. How are the other markets compared to Brownwood price wise? But of course it IS TV! :)

I haven't been to the Lady Lake market yet, but I went to Wildwood a couple of times before it relocated to Brownwood, and I really didn't find too much "local" about it. Just a very few of vendors with home grown produce (I actually only remember 1 selling onions). Most everything was the same you buy at Publix, at the same price.
I like Fernando's, in Pedro. I asked Fernando once if everything was indeed organic and grown there on his farm. He said yes. They even give farm tours, by appointment.

We went to the market when it was in Wildwood by the City Hall. We noticed that the prices appear higher since they are now doing it in Brownwood. Maybe higher rent for spaces?

There's a great farmer's market every Thursday at The Fairgrounds of Eustis. All sorts of vendors come here. Homemade breads, fruits, veggies, plants, nuts, etc, you'll find it here.

Thanks for posting this information, I had no idea there was another farmer's market locally. For others who may be interested this is the internet link, and this market sounds great: Lake County Farmers’ Market (http://www.lakecountyfl.gov/hometown_highlights/lake_county_farmers_market.aspx)

There's also the Leesburg Farmer's Market and The Market of Marion. Soon there will be another choice at the corner of 42 and 441, I believe it will be called the Market of the Villas or something to that effect.

I did a search for Fernando's and came up with this link. It is in Summerfield so it might be the place we are both looking for Fernando's Organic Produce - Summerfield, FL (Florida) | 352-615-4775 (http://www.manta.com/c/mrprfr7/fernando-s-organic-produce)

I hear that it costs $40 to rent a table and even if you sell out, you are not allowed to leave Brownwood until 2PM.

Be very very careful when buying homegrown produce at farmers markets,,, u have no idea what pesticides were used ....we only from established growers,,I look at there vehicle and if they bursh there teeth and take a bath....if they don't care about themselves they don't care about how safely they grow things.....there is a reason the USDA inspects our food
